Pleased for Harvey , also Parnell is not getting praise he deserves Davis has to go down to AAA and promote someone who can at least register vs hit in every 10 at bats....
Hefner stunk, Carson was shit , Davis meh and I lost 3 hrs of my life watching that On a very serious note...I can't remember a least talented Mets team
The 2003 team was really really bad.... before Wright came up and it may have been Reyes's first season. Your starting lineup that year... 1B - Jason Phillips 2B - Roberto Alomar (the bad version) SS - Rey Sanchez 3B - Ty Wigginton C - Vance Johnson RF - Roger Cedeno CF - Jeff Duncan LF - Cliff Floyd Awesome guys like Jay Bell, Timo Perez, Joe McEwing and Raul Gonzalez off the bench. I think Burnitz of course was injured. Your #1 pitcher Steve Traschel Glavine was awful that year Leiter was not bad I can't remember the rest of the rotation... maybe Kaz Iishi and Jae Seo All that being said at least that team did have .... To this day maybe my favorite Mets player of all time
if we're discussing all time obviously the 1962 team 1993 team had talent but they were probably the most underachieving Mets team
Oh yeah, hands down the 62 team but my mother was in junior high when that team took the field it was so long ago. The 03 is the worrst one I remember but they had some terrible teams in the 90's as well... The 93 was an all around disgrace but there at least was some talent on that team. Coleman, Kent, Murray, Hundlay, HoJo. Was Torborg the manager of that team?
yes, and that was Bonilla's second season with the Mets. We can't forget about 1993 because Bonilla is still on the payroll.
one of the worst contracts for sure, and then the Mets offered him $29.75 million in annuities if he'd defer the $5.9 million they owed him. I'm sure Bonilla and his agent had to think long and hard about that one. It explains a lot about the Wilpons and their financial acumen. Madoff, Bonilla, etc.
1962 of course doesn't even count, as it was so off the charts bad. What people don't remember is that the 1963-1965 teams were almost as bad, and not as lovable. Just about the only decent player they had during that time was Ron Hunt. In the four years from 1962-1965 the Mets had 6 pitchers who lost at least 20 games - just think about that for a moment. I don't remember much about the 1962 Mets, but by 1963/1964 I was a big fan, and this is what I was watching! I would also remind people about the 1977-1982 Mets - 6 years of absolute ineptitude, with future Hall of Fame manager Joe Torre in charge for most of it. Those teams lost at least 95 games every one of those years, with the exception of 1981 because of the strike (they were on a pace to lose 97).
of course they were awful for most of the decade. It took time to get major leaguers in. 1963 wasn't much better than 1962. It was still a roster bereft of major league talent, and many of the players from 1962 remained.
Ike has been pretty bad defensively. Have yourself a day, Rick Ankiel can't believe the way he's hitting now
Im done. I cant take it anymore. Fucking 2013 and we are worse than 2012. Im sick of it, This shit started in 09 and this is the 5th season of losing play...
I cannot think of an other player who looked like they would develop into a special player and just utterly crashed before our eyes like IKE has done. He has been horrible and has to go.
