Ryan Church apparently "has no recollection of the collision." Both are getting x-rays; Anderson on the chest, Church on the jaw.
Mets win on a HBP with the bases loaded. Church probably got a concussion- those concussions where you dont lose consciousness can be nasty. Sometimes I think you're better off just being carried off the field, and treated in a hospital until you regain your senses.
Delgado hurt...again. They say it's unrelated to last year's hip. Like they ever tell us the truth. Like anyone tells the truth about anything anymore. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2008/news/story?id=3272201
At least Santana was better in his second start. Martinez dropped a routine fly ball which almost cost the Mets the game against the Dodgers yesterday.
Happily Santana, Pedro, Maine, and Perez have all pitched well this spring, so it will hopefully not matter so much. To be honest, I never expected anything from him at this point, and if he was ever going to be more than the #5 starter the Mets would have been in trouble anyway.
While that is true, we are lacking in pitching depth any injuries to the top 4 and we could be in trouble.
Absolutely, and as I noted earlier, I never thought that Duque would be the answer if that happened. I would be shocked if he is not completely done at this point.
When your 5th starter is your biggest problem you're doing OK. Give the slot to pelfrey and put hernadenz is the pen.
? John Maine (2-1, 2.63) of the Meets looks like a star this spring. Anyone who figures he's a middle-of-the-rotation starter may be underestimating him. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/jon_heyman/03/19/heyman.hunter/2.html One of many available to those with open eyes and the ability to read...
Wow, Mets are in a whole heap of trouble with their 5th starter spot. I guess Pelfry wins the job by default? They can't possibly have Hernandez pitching in games that count yet. Are there any other possibilties?
