Big OT win over the Devils, after giving up the tying goal with less than 5 seconds left. 2-0 on the road trip, but now comes the travel.

I mistakenly switched to the Devils broadcast, and I couldn't believe how terrible it was. The homerism was shockingly over the top - it made me miss the calm unbiased announcing of Sam Rosen! (Yes, that was a joke.)

Good start to the 7-game road trip going 2-0 with wins over the Rangers and Devils. But some tough games coming up. At Vegas, Utah, Colorado, Dallas, and Detroit before finally playing at home against the Blues.

And, of course, a player gets his first goal of the season against the Isles.

IMO they played terribly defensively tonight as the Golden Nights literally were skating through stick checks all night that said a short handed game winner in OT = I will take it as they are now 3 games over 500 and I would have signed upper this in a heartbeat ps Schaefer showed off his stuff again tonight

Obviously at this point a .500 road trip would be disappointing - how about 5-2?

Schaefer is tied for the league lead in goals among defensemen, and leads all rookies in points (forwards and defensemen).

Defense is going to be a problem all year. This team is a work in progress as we have to give Darche time to make this more of his team and not Lou's. He has already said that building up Bridgeport and having a strong farm system is the way to success. As time goes by some of the older players will be gone as they look to get younger with more skill and speed added to the lineup led by Schaefer. This team plays hard and with the win at Vegas they are off to a 3-0 start on this 7-game road trip. Not bad not bad at all.
