We'll certainly know the truth by mid-season of 2009, since Mangini is already with another team. Side-to-side results will be telling.
Just read the original post, and that is awesome news. Of course, for the Jets, "barring an unexpected development" is the kiss of death.
Jets fans amaze me sometimes. Both Jim Mora jr. and Wade Phillips have had more success in the league than any coach has had with the Jets since Weeb Ewbank.
If you ask me, Schotty and Mike T are already treading on thin ice, after all that off-season spending and offensive collapse towards the end of the season. The only reason Schotty is still in NY is all because Mike is whispering sweet Schotty nothings in Woody's ear. At least next year, I'll know exactly where to place my hate. If the offense sucks this year, I want both those fuckers gone and Rex given the freedom to bring in his own OC.
Woody wants Favre back to sell PSL'S & the best chance to get him back is to keep Schotty so Favre does not have to learn a new O. Ryan wants to be a head coach so much so that Woody said we like you but if we hire you you have to keep Favre & Schotty & Ryan said yes that is why he will be the guy. The question now is will they be smart enough to keep Westy & to fire Sutton.
I just don' take any of those run-first QBs seriously, because none of them have really shown anything other than short term gain. Think about it, you have the most important player on the field trying to be a running back. You just know that at some point he's going to take a hit and be out for an extended period. Then what do you do? Your team is basically screwed.
Getting to the playoffs with a Sb ready team. Anything else is just a waste of a good draft slot. Or a Missed Matt Ryan, Adrian Peterson etc, etc!
Most teams aren't Super Bowl ready without playoff experience. Sometimes I wonder if you know anything about football. Fucking drafts slots, you're pathetic.
The only teams with no shot at making the SB when the playoffs start are the teams that didn't qualify for the playoffs. In this era of the NFL any team that makes the playoffs has a shot to get to and win the SB. Look no further then the Arizona Cardinals and Eagles as proof.
Right on. Not only that, six weeks ago Eagles fans were ready to cut McNabb and fire Andy Reid. All of a sudden they're singing different tunes. For us to be SB contenders we first have to be playoff contenders.
Naturally there is no way & what he is saying is that it appears to satisfy most just being in the POs where the only goal should be winning the SB. Anything less then a SB championship is just another unsuccessful season to put on the negative side of the ledger (or debit side if you like better)
