No offense taken. I just like how the logo has an actual Jet and the NY. I will admit it is a bit much for an NFL logo which tend be be very minimalist / understated. Maybe would work better as a secondary logo vs. on the helmet.
I respect your opinion - as always Kurt - and don't disagree that black can work with green, BUT...it's derivative. Black is used to imply "tough", "nasty", "outlaw", "Gangsta" -which is old news. I'm good with grey instead of black though if we HAVE to have something besides green and white.
There won't be gray. There will be a black uniform set in addition to green and white. I suppose the black will be an alternate, but who knows. I'm hoping they avoid the monochrome look and go with white pants most of the time. Or colored pants with a white jersey. We've also heard the helmet is green, which is cool with me.
Interestingly, the programs from '64 featured a completely different logo on the helmet - one that was never actually used as far as I know.

the "art degree" side of me just did a back flip. not that it matters to the commoner viewing a uniform, but as a designer this knowledge is huge and not many people know this. (consider this a side note)
Eggs. Animals were laying eggs way before chickens came along. The answer is always the egg. Edit: Sorry, err...No green jersey with green pants. Phew, rescued the post.
Our alternate uniforms will be black. Our home and away will have no black and will be green and white with grey stripping. No black. Black is lame, grey is classy with green and white. I am gonna love the green helmets. No more white.
But for the helmet, I could dig this. Maybe use the sack exchange era helmet logo but on a white helmet. Still prefer they just go back to those in their entirety.
They quite often overlap, I thought I was escaping math and science by going down the art path but boy was I wrong haha!
