Here's a clip from One Jets Drive the video series, where one of the members of Nike is wearing a distinctively Kelly Green Jets shirt. In the last frame you can clearly see the Jets insignia on the arm of the shirt. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet. (NOT officially confirmed ^)
That has been out for a couple of months now... I Highly doubt that that's the "dramatic forward thinking" change they're talking about.... if it is it would be typical jets.
Listening to this promo, and hearing that they've been working on this since 2014 - 4 years! - it seems like they're really going to depart from the traditional green & white significantly, lending weight to the rumor that black will be heavily featured - UGH! I wish they had put this kind of effort into finding good coaches and players.
I think the league requires 5yrs notice before any significant color change can be implemented... 2014-2019... 5yrs... I Really believe the green & white will be a thing of the past.
I don't remember where, I've been trying to find it again but it was said they will be retaining the "football" in the emblem but it will be redesigned, and I also read that the helmets were confirmed to be green. Thank you Wah for pointing out who the person actually is in the video. Apologies for the misrepresentation.
If that video is any indication, the Jets' new colors could be kelly green and that blue/gray color. Also, did you notice in the locker that one of the Jerseys was white with black numbering? There was no green at all. Gag if they go to black I'm really going to be freaking pissed!
My knee jerk reaction is to feel the same way but I'm doing my best to reserve my judgement until we have a clearer impression.
I don't think it's 5 years notice. For a uniform change it is 2 years notice You have to wait 5 years before making a wholesale change again. Cleveland tried to change back rather quickly because of how poorly their uniforms were received but they have not been allowed to. They will make a change after next season concludes
I would be okay if they use a blue-grey shade instead of black. I just think using black is so over-done, and smacks of Raiders "bad ass" copycat.
I really need to find that quote that had all this info, in it it ALSO said that there would 100% be a predominate black "alternate".
I hope that is wrong! One of the things I disliked about living in NYC was how almost everyone wore black and gray all the time. It was so boring, bleak and dreary. In football uniforms it's trite and overdone.
Why is everyone freaking out due to black color. I hate Kelly Green but I love current Jets green. But I am OK with Kelly Grean and Black if that's the way they go. Bilemiyorum Altan.
Considering Nike is involved with this, we already know it's going to look terrible. Have they updated anyone's uniforms yet to something that looked better than it previously was?
