Looking through all these awful designs reinforces several keys to me: 1) Green and White ONLY. No khaki, no plumb, no gray, no black, no gold....Green & White. 2) Only one green. Only one white, for that matter... 3) Logo that fits on the helmet. This fad of having a logo that's 2 sizes too big is just that: it's not going to age well, I promise you. 4) The logo is key--if it looks like an Autobot of the Empire State Building or like a paper airplane, it won't matter how good the colors look. 5) Simple is better than complicated. I liked these the best, but it wasn't a very high bar: https://www.flickr.com/photos/65516705@N00/31163134958/in/album-72157674024485578/
They are wearing their all whites with white facemasks this Sunday. Then the next week they will be wearing their "color rush" uniforms. Don't ask how I know this, I'm a sick puppy.
Why do they switch up their uniforms each week? Aside from Home/Away switches, why not stick with those two basic uni's?
First Look: Jets to Wear Gray Facemasks vs. Colts In Honor of the 50th Anniversary of Super Bowl III, the Jets Will Wear Gray Facemasks for Week 6
I agree with points 1-5. I liked that uni except that it had two logos, one on the helmet, and another on the sleeve. I hate the one on the helmet. Just use the one on the sleeve, and I'd be very happy with that uniform, especially if the green was more of a kelly green, but like that green better than the darker, forest green. Also, in his color rush uniform, he used that really old dumb-looking jet in the logo. That's awful, as is the black stripe on the legs and sleeves. But I like the brighter green.
I so hope this is true. Love the throwback uniforms with the grey facemasks. The Joe Willie uniforms should be the primary. The all white with white facemasks also good. The green on drab green pants last week almost made me want to root for the Broncos. May we never see that look again!
White pants - grey facemasks. Team looked good this week. Let's hope there is more of that! No other changes are really needed.
i really prefer the white facemask over the gray with the all white unis. it is a really clean uniform but will bore the shit out of me in a couple years. i wouldnt be surprised if you see teams make more and more design changes to the unis more often. i think they have realized that 3rd jerseys and color rush make them more money. i like the color rush unis most of the time. but when they are bad they are really bad.
The whole " super bowl uniform makeover " for the Colts game was extremely overrated. Other than the grey facemasks there was no difference whatsoever. They were still 2018 uniforms...I thought they were actually going to have the 68 uniform design out there....... That being said I'm thinking next year's makeover will include a lighter shade of green....kelly green the way it should be.
Yeah that's a close call I'd be happy with either.....white on white is a classy look...however I could see a green facemask adding a nice trim with a white helmet.....
