Why stop there?Remove the green all together.Color is BAD..err..something like that.. This is all subjective. Not everyone thinks the green helmets & pants are “ugly”. The old school fans that go back to super bowl III want nothing but all white w as little green as possible..so be it..Frankly ive seen enough butt fumbles & gutless conservative football in the white that its become lifeless & yes UGLY. Its the GANG GREEN not the nittany lions. My point isnt to argue bc its all preference but careful when speaking in absolutes. Its all up for interpretation which is what makes this a massive challenge for the organization.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the shade of green, but hate the black numbers and stripes and the logo is worse than awful or terrible.
The Green helmet era bugged me because half the helmets were a different color. It looked cheap and cheesy and perfectly reflected the ownership. Say what you want the Penn State uniform is timeless and classy. It's hands down one of the best college football uniforms ever. The Oregon Ducks uniform was cool for abut 10 minutes. I grew up a Mets fan. The Yankee's uniform is hands down the best uniform in Major league baseball. You want to come up with something that is timeless and classy. Your grand children will see the replays and it will be the same for 50 years. Trying to be trendy is a sure way to look dated and cheap in a couple of years. That's the real challenge. The White Uniforms with Green trim as crappy as they were, still looks decent today. The goal should be to come up with something simple and timeless.
We really dont disagree w what they should aim for. Tasteful & classy all the way.By no means am i advocating for Arena football novelties. It’s new york for a team that at least tries to represent themselves as first class. I also dont think the classic look is going very far.I think in the new CBA it will be worked out for more uniform combinations from week to week. Id expect teams to see the marketing opportunities & will have retro looks in heavy rotation(For better or worse) Im just more receptive to to different shades of green & color schemes as long as they look good.Im fully embracing a new chapter of Jets football including a modern look. Ill be the firatvto criticize if the final product is subpar but im keeping a very open mind.Keep it green & clean
I find it interesting the Jets verified Instagram page color corrects the green on the uniform to look lighter and less drab.
LOL No doubt! Sorry about that. That reminds me...I'd better check the batteries in my smoke detector!
if we are going to keep the shoulder stripes can we PUHLEASE make them actual shoulder stripes and have the shoulder cap the same damn color as the rest of the jersey? i really cant stand the half a stripe look because the cap is the same color as the outside of the shoulder stripe.
They are going with a lighter green. Look at most of the marketing materials like the flag giveaways at the stadium. Go on Fanatics.com as well and you will see they are putting a huge emphasis on releasing "throwback merch" in the old kelly green. I believe the teams instagram and the examples i gave are all part of preparing the fan base for switching back to the lighter green in April.
Such an awesome post and look. This is usually the look I play with when mixing and matching helmets, jerseys, pants, socks, and shoes on MADDEN. Really intimidated people online too
This remains my favorite. This w the occassional appearance from the current look would be a great compronise.
