im neutral. like the color, helmet looks good... helmet logo is kind of boring. pants stripe is gay. and i have no grasp of why the nfl wants to use these chest and shoulder stripes? makes the whole thing look terrible. ive seen it now in seattle, cleveland and the jets. and it looks dumb. that said, they didnt completely fuck it up. which makes me happy.
I completely agree regarding the leg and shoulder stripes, it makes the whole thing look terrible (as does some of the other changes, but that's probably the worst part). Taking something that was good, and making it look terrible.....how is that not fucking it up tho? I think that's a perfect example of fucking something up.
Yeah... Those fairy wings are the worst aspect of the design. The logo is just generic & plain...there's no graphic element that makes it unique to the NY Jets. Any team name would look exactly the same. That jet swoosh helmet is so much better in every way. The color they chose is ok. If it had been some crazy day-glo neon shade I would have gone nuts. There's plenty of team uniforms that look worse...I was just hoping for much more.
true, although there is a 5 year rule for uniform changes, I wonder if that applies to the logo. Maybe in 3 years they can change it to the jets 80's/90's logo
I feel the same, at first I was kind of indifferent. I thought these are not an upgrade at all. But now I do like them, so much so that I just purchased one, the black one with Bell on the back.
At first I was indifferent. I sadly still am indifferent after several days of looking at them... I kinda like the metallic green lids but as for the rest of it - as several others have posted - its so unexciting. It's a redesign dictated to us by the manufuacturer. Nothing there is other than minor retreads of things already out there (though I can now see that fighter jet design in the new ball logo is clever but badly incorporated in my opinion). Watching Wrestlmania last night and the guy sitting directly behind the announcers had the black Darnold on. When they first released i was not a fan of the all black but need to fully admit after seeing it over and over again last night I'm sold. Seeing it in an "everyday" scenario I now look forward to seeing what it's like on the field.
Damn - I liked that theory. Ah well - onwards and upwards in corporate designer land. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
