For the general same reasons as any "entertainment". Movies, hobbies,music. I like sports trading cards,collectibles.Wear jerseys around the house.i like sports uniforms history. I've watched it for years, it's' male bonding time with friends. I just don't' waste expectant emotion on it anymore.
One thing I liked about the unveiling and the recent press... the Jets are making Darnold and Adams the centerpieces. Theyve been all over the media of late, particularly social media. These two guys are stars and great Jet ambassadors. Now they just need to win.

This would have been a vast, and simple, improvement to make over what we got. The other way that they could have gone, given the directive of wanting to fully embrace and represent the franchise as being "New York", they could have taken the old NY alternate logo and put the jet trim above it to make something that accomplished the feat of being familiar while also being new and bold. Regardless, what we ended up with accomplished none of those things.
Am I the only one feeling underwhelmed by all of this? They built this entire homecoming up as a way to boost the morale of the fanbase but in the end, most of us were pretty much where we were before the reveal. Seemed a lot to do about nothing but if it translates into 2 more wins, it was worth it.
For so many reasons.... aside from the asthetics, it makes sense, it's a modern blend of their 2 previous looks, and not to mention in this digital media age, the "jet" graphic has lots of potential for cross promotions, particularly from an animation/motion graphic standpoint..... you'd think that being in the advertising capital of the world they'd get those details figured out
