I love our white uniform and agree one of the best. The green uniform on the other hand is hideous. The new White isn't as good but the new green is better. The Black is something to buy your girlfriend. A triple X black can double as a burka.
I had to Google both and do a side by side. I think as long as both teams don't wear their black we are good. I agree that our previous white helmets made more of a distinction between the two teams, but the Eagles have a darker green and a good bit more black in their primary unis. How cringe worthy was the crowd reaction when he mentioned a 2019 super bowl? I laughed pretty hard. Not that I don't hope we make it, or think that we haven't significantly improved our roster. It was the silent groan that I could feel through the TV, the same one that has permeated the soul of every Jets fan for so many sundays. I had to wonder if the kid has ever even seen a game. Lmao
I wonder why they didn’t go with a fighter jet as a logo with NY or something? They’re pretty cool looking overall but the helmet is going to take some getting used to. Love the color but that logo....
I think the colors are the only thing good on the new uniforms. I could forgive everything else, but you are telling me it took 5 years to make that shitty logo??? It's easily the worst part about the uniforms. The old logos looked so much better
I liked the old unis just fine. I hated the green of the 80s/early 90s and was terrified we were going back to it. Now that I've seen them...meh. I think I actually like the black ones marginally better than the rest, but they're all fine. Not "ugly and I cringe every time i watch" (Tampa), not spectacular, not sure it was worth the effort and hoopla, but w/e. Bring home a Lombardi trophy and I'll love them.
Knew they would mess it up. They look horrible. The black jersey should have had the white helmet. Just hope they play better than they look because these will be eyesores on Sunday.
Taking a break from this thread and forum. Too many ppl got me bummed out. Per Sam, worry about selling out MetLife and less about the jerseys fam. Rally behind this team instead of knocking each other down.
The new uniforms are annoying. The colors are nice, the jerseys are fine, but the logo is trash. I'll never understand why the Jets are so insistent on their logo being the word "JETS". Do they think that us Jets fans would be confused by something more symbolic? A jet is pretty iconic. It's an image that can be easily depicted in simple graphic form, and one that's hard to confuse with something else. Or if you want to go with the name spelled out on the helmet, at least try to incorporate some part of a jet on there somewhere. Oh right, like we did in the 80s and 90s. And as long as I'm airing grievances: why is the most popular Jets chant the one where people loudly and slowly spell the team's short, one syllable, name? Who are we trying to impress with this feat of kindergarten literacy, denizens of Buffalo?
They've just never branded much with fighter jets. Not saying it's right or wrong. But the Jets were originally named after the Jet set lifestyles of the 60's and the commercial Jets over Shea
The helmet is an abomination. We're stuck with the jerseys for a few years, but the helmet needs to be changed ASAP.
The logo is just the old logo with the NY and circle removed. It is fine, but feels too plain and as if something is missing. Easily fixable if they choose to.
The explanation may be pretty simple. The Johnsons themselves just personally like that font for the Jets and want to showcase it. And they own the team so they get final say. We are all personally attached to the late 70's through 1997 sleek Jets helmet script. A lot of folks want something that incorporates speed...or an actual Jet. The Johnsons just don't want it
I just hope we didn’t do irreparable damage to Sam’s psyche with that horrendously awkward on stage interview
My take Love the helmet Away and black jerseys are fire Home jerseys are ok. Would have liked a white stripe down the sides. Overall I think they’re fresh and modern
