The colour would be legit kelly green style but man that Jet is not the Jet to display on a logo, a fighter jet but it would have to be a slightly older model these new ones don't look so good from a side view. IMO
Since this thread started I've been buying popcorn at Costco. I'm sure on the 4th it will be tough not to ready every comment for fear of missing someone's melt down that will leave me in stitches.
Did they announce what time the press conference is? I need a battle of Scotch on hand to either celebrate or induce vomiting.
I like the retro logo on that hat. I've liked but can't find it for sale anywhere. I don't like the idea of a military jet. I don't like the fetishisation of the armed forces. The Jets were named to tie in with the new jet age, the jet set - a new, bright, modern era for mankind. It wasn't about the military.
Affect vs effect. It's effect here. It's like lie vs lay. So yeah, it's gonna suck balls. The English language is an insurmountable pile of shit. What was this about again?
They do have signature hairdos though! I agree that a 747 is not a great look. I think the Jets of the 1980s (the Jets I fell in love with) did a good job of having a representation of a jet without getting too specific about the model. I'd like to see an updated take on that sort of approach.
I saw your post and the first thought that crossed my mind was, “damn that thing looks fucking beastly.” The literal Jet as a piece of technology truly is fascinating. Those damn things are capable of going 2,500+ mph... Back to the look of it for a second. The look of a fighter Jet has changed over time and I think that is even more reason for the NYJ to embrace it as its new logo. The back half of that Jet looks like something out of Star Wars.
There were some interesting pics of it on google, viewed from a slight angle it looks amazing also there was one with the burners on full blast, the acceleration at that point must be immense.
Actually you are right. Wrote that at work and I usually just blast messages and Post W/o checking. That being said, lighten up Panama Red.
True, and in principle, I agree with your statement regarding fetishsation of the armed forces. The problem is that after 9/11, there's no way they're going to use a passenger jet in the logo. It will either be a fighter jet, or there will be no Jet at all, and it will be something like NY + the word "Jets"
