I think their is a possiblity that Sanchez could pull it together somewhere with better surrounding talent and coaching, but he's probably done here. I don't think Sanchez will be successful without a lot more talent around him on offense. The Jets won't be able to fill that void in one season without a Herschel Walker like deal. I don't care if Bill Walsh was the OC.

I agree. I don't care who starts as long as the FO / CS is confident in the decision they made.

And TE should learn to peel off effectively after selling a block. (None of the Jets TEs do that well.)

All in all, Jets do not have the personnel grouping that can make a pocket passer excel - and Sanchez was put in exactly that spot. I get that - he sucks a lot, but don't even assume this franchise did anything with half semblance of sensibility when it comes to helping the kid. They didn't.

He will get a chance to compete. Get him a good coach, a real OC that can properly game plan, healthy weapons, and let him battle. If h can legitimately win the starting job more power to him. Alex Smith was left for dead in San Fran until he led them to an NFC champ game last year. Was playing solid ball this year before his injury.

Is there anybody whatsoever on this site that thinks Sanchez didn't regress last year? Anybody? I think Sanchez supporter is a myth now. I only see people that think he should stay because we're obligated with the money. A new QB coach and good OC could certainly help, but who knows at this point. I just have no idea how much of the issue was Sanchez, how much was WRs, how much was the line, how much was the QB coach and how much was the OC.

The only way im even remotley comfortable with Sanchez starting next season is if Norv Turner comes in says he can fix him and brings instant credibilty to the offense

The context of my quote was a discussion of Sanchez's prospects for returning next year and improving. I apologize for not directly mentioning taht context in your quote of my post.

What I meant is the fact of and the manner in which Sanchez regressed givese no one any good reason to think he can just bounce back to even his rather mediocre level in 9 and 10. Anyone who thinks he is likely to do so is more than a supporter of his. He is dealing in faith based football analysis.

Who knows indeed? Well, we can at least talk about what is likely. His recent performance is a downward spiral. Those typically do not end well.

And more to the point why should it be teh Jets' main objective to now go out and find an OC and a Qb coach who will resurrect Mark Sanchez? Why would we want to burden them with that, not to mention the team's search for new coaches on O.

Rex: I want an attacking type O!

Candidate: Yeah, but a few moments before you said you would like to see me help resurrect Mark Sanchez.

Rex: That's right! I don't want to change my tattoo.

Candidate: Ain't happening, dude. I mean that Sanchez would ever be an "attack" Qb. The tat probably needs to be changed, though. Good luck.

I could live with an 0-16 season if we can get Johnny Manziel as our QB. The guy can throw run and would energize this organization.

Whether you like it or not, Sanchez is here to stay - at least till the end of next season. Might as well try to get as much worth as you can get.

even if a guy like MATT MOORE or even McElroy beats him out in camp? Try not to be a Sanchez fan and be a Jets fan first! The guy has zero accuracy. He never had it. At USC he had to wait for years to get a chance to play because of that reason. Even when he first got here he was NOT the type of QB to carry the team. he did win a few games late by rallying us but he never eclipsed 60 per cent as a passer. Who can trust him other then his loyal fans?

I doubt very seriously that Mark Sanchez will be our starting quarterback on opening day.
