The bottom line is , Rex is not going to waste a pick to get a QB in the first round and take a big risk in hoping that pick will give results the first year or the 2nd/3rd for that matter. While some think he's a goner after this year, and if he feels in the back of his mind that it might be the case ( which I highly doubt, for reasons that are beyond this topic), then there's 0% chance of him drafting a QB in the 1st.

People seem to forget this. Is Rex going to go a 'wait and see' approach for another QB to develop? I think not. Based on what we've seen so far in the draft, the 1st pick was for need..and so far those 'need' picks have not been too shabby. I'll wager this one coming up will be another need pick. A pass rusher or OL would be the best guess. But what do I know?

Thats arguably false. Like Ive said, the talent between #5 and #25 is VERY similar. I guarantee you are going to hear about 30 names tossed around like they are top 15 picks because of this fact. And btw, Geno's name is very attached to the #1 pick, and has been since October (in reference to your Rodgers situation).

I would say right now, outside of Joeckel, Werner, Jones, Moore, Fisher, Star and Warmack, Geno could very well be BPA. Add in that I dont think this organization is looking to improve the RT situation and there's only about 4-5 players that are better than him.

Im not advocating him at 9, but if he's there, at the very least he makes you think long and hard about your decision. If we trade Revis for a late 1st and bring in an offensive haul of Geno, Patterson, Gio, Long, and Escobar in the first 4 rounds this offense could have a very high ceiling going forward.

People seem to forget that "Rex is in charge of the coaching, and the GM (Idzik) is in charge of the personnel." Do you really think Idzik is going to truly care about a coaches input that may only have a year left? Hell no. Rex, like usual, may want a defensive draft, but does that mean he's going to get it? Nope. Do you think Rex wants his best defensive player to be traded? Nope, but that may happen because its in the best interest of the team.

And as for your "need pick"... QB is our biggest need. Hands down, nothing compares. Unless you have a franchise QB, you are going no where.

Whether or not the Jets take a QB early could be an indication of what Idzik thinks about Rex's future. If he's thinking he might be bringing in someone else after the season, he'd probably wait for that guy to have a say.

This is actually something I hadn't even thought about for this upcoming draft. It's a very interesting angle to think about. And I would definitely be inclined to agree with you.

Rex is still in charge, make no mistake about it. It's obvious with the fact that the Jets brought in a GM to work with him. Rex will have his say in the draft.. the last 4 #1 picks prove this out.

I think there still deaf ears here, lol........regardless of what we think about Sanchez, whether his time is at hand with the Jets or not, he has 1 more year to prove to the Jets they made the right choice....and imo, that's Rex's thinking. Wasting a #1 pick on a questionable need like QB is an indication that Rex is not the man for the job. Think about that.

Its pretty laughable that you say QB is a "questionable need"... Im just going to leave it at that.

lol, ok, but it's not as funny as Rex picking a QB in the 1st.

Let's see what happens in April
