Dalton might not be Montana but he is their FQB for better or worse. I noticed that McCarron did not appear in any games last year. He appeared in 3 games in 2015 as a rookie and performed well. It can't make him happy to be Dalton's backup for another year, at which point the Bengals will have to decide whether to resign him or let him walk as a FA. I would imagine that a trade for a player of Richardson's value (a starter) might be a temptation to get something for McCarron (a backup) while they can. The trade makes some sense, but I haven't heard it mentioned as a possibility anywhere either.
Yep, I obviously missed those when I went through the draft 2014 round by round. Don't know how I missed Carr especially. My only defense is that I hadn't had any coffee yet! LOL Thanks.
Martavius Bryant was there. Bruce Ellington (though I don't think he's done much), McCarron etc. Idzik was the worse GM ever. Watching that draft I was embarassed to be a Jet fan. 2014 and the Idzik 12 will haunt us for a few more years. Ugh.
...And to think...the current emptiness we feel right now..is the exact same feeling we had starting in 2012-onward. Throughout 13-15 we were all holding out hope for the stockpiled 14' draft picks & the ridiculous cap space.. What did it get us...well here we are 3 years later...no better...likely even worse! Idzik clearly had no connections when it came to player personnel. It's not even that he himself lacked the knowledge. That sort of structure can actually work in the NFL permitted the GM is grounded & he has the right personnel people in place to provide the proper information. He didn't have anybody to bring here..so he trusted Terry F'n Bradway...who by the way...might be THE #1 culprit for all the CRAP we've endured from a roster standpoint over the last 15 years. I continue to ask...what did Jet fans do to deserve this absolute travesty? When you consider neighboring rivals like the Giants & Pats who seem to always fall on their feet & get every bounce/call...the spirit is weak...very very..weak.
