Who would you suggest replaced Jones and Lewis? The only legitimate young backup the Jets had was Farrior, and he bolted from the Jets after being terrible for 4 years (though he did set a career high in tackles in his only season under Herm.)

For the most part Herm played the best players. Youth should not be a ticket into the starting lineup.

I don't remember exactly who was available at that time, but anybody else would have been better than Marvin Jones and Lewis which was validated by the fact that no teams picked them up after they left. People weren't telling all those jokes about them in wheelchairs for nothing. The bottom line is, if you are the HC, you have to go out there and find players who can replace veterans that can't play any more in the NFL either through the draft or free agency. Maybe Farrior left because he wanted to be a fulltime player and didn't want to play second fiddle when he knew how good he could be (something that Herm has trouble seeing).

Whatever, there are dozens of other threads about this. I feel comfortable leaving this arguement having presented evidence while you have not.

By the way, I can only reiterate that Farrior only played one season with the Jets under Herm Edwards. Coincidentally it was by far the best season of his Jets career and he set a career high in tackles that year. Farrior's failure with the Jets are not Herms fault, they are Parcells and Farrior's fault.
