So all you assholes that think the Bills are super bowl contenders are gonna leave and go root for them right?
Also, what could Rex give this team that it didn't already have? It had a very good defense being run by an excellent coordinator and issues with the offense and, especially now, the QB position. They brought in a guy to coordinate the offense who saw his franchise QB regress considerably in 2014. Only time will tell, of course, but my immediate reaction is that I don't see this as such a great move. IMO with an already great defense and coordinator in place, wouldn't they be better off going with a more offensive-minded head coach. It seems to me that the biggest task they have in front of them is getting EJ Manuel to play at an least decent level. How is Rex going to help them do that?
Rex should have stepped back from the game and spent time with offensive minded guys to learn how to build a proper offense. Instead he goes into the same exact situation he did this year. I don't think him and Schwartz will get along. Schwartz is a really good D coordinator so I don't see what extra Rex brings to the table. Bad move IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Exactly. To me the best fit for a team hiring Rex is using his knowledge to fix a broken defense. Why bring in a guy who's expertise is on the side of the ball that's already a strength? Meanwhile, the guy couldn't get a functional offense for 4 years, using 3 different OC's, not to mention ST on his watch went went from strength to weakness. I just hope that Buffalo fans get used to wasting TO's, clock mis-management, and that 3rd and 12 will be considered manageable against his all-out blitzes, etc. Now if only he brings Sanchez and K-Dub with him, all will be good...
A head coach? I get your other points, but they might look at it like they can get an elite defense if they bring Rex in, and they can have a formula similar to the successful Rex Jets teams as opposed to the recent crappy versions.
I don't think Schwartz will be retained, I read reports that Dennis Thurman will be following rex to buffalo. I would take shwartz as a replacement for DC.
Quit with the Rex love. You sound just like the jealous ex bf that just found out his ex has a new bf and you just can't get over her. Time to move on buddy....
I'll bet $5 Rex makes a joke about finally getting to coach a 'New York' football team. Good luck Rex, may you never win a Super Bowl in Buffalo.
Agree with this 100%. I live in Western NY. So will be annoying listening to him. They already had #4 DEF in league. What exactly does he do for them? Rex issues are 1) disorganization as a head coach 2) lack of interest in offense side. So wrong team.
Greg roman as the Bills OC would be an absolute disaster. That 49ers team looked bad and they have talent all over that offensive unit, and I know 49ers fans HATED Roman, he is like Schotty west over there.
Agreed. Shefter is pretty much on point with all his tweets. Not sure how he does it but he consistently has the goods on every NFL team
It figures .... NOW Rex finally stumbles on a good offensive coordinator, after all the duds he hired with us! "Multiple reports say Ryan will hire Greg Roman, formerly of the San Francisco 49ers. " http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-jets/
