Exactly. Been through too many seasons that, even though they were winning games, I just knew it was gonna come crashing down...there was no permanence to it.

It feels different now. The Jets aren't just a different team, they are a different organization...willing and able to be competitive every year.

Ive been followin the jets since i started watchin football as a kid back in 94'. I wasnt a fan of them at first i was actually i was niner fan rite off the bat cuz of Rice in fact they won the superbowl that very year the 1st superbowl i ever saw. I remember watchin a few jet games that yr as well the 1st full game i remember bein the fake spike game.. then i dont know what happened my grandmother who is a diehard jet fan somehow converted me into a jet fan the next year. I went from liking the the best team in football (superbowl champion 49ers) to a becoming a diehard jet fan by the following season! The jets at the time were the worst team in football. But as i look back now i do not regret it one bit i sometimes say it when the jets screw up or play poorly but i dont mean it. I havent been this excited bout our team since parcells was here, ever since rex came aboard its been good times. Great coasch he really has gotten rid of this loser mentallity hangin over this team. In fact going thru all the let downs us jet fans have had over the years its gonna make it that much sweeter when were hoisting that lombardi in the air! go jets!

Great article and very true. We know how good things have been with Rex, and how bad things were in the past. And we have had our heart broke many times with other coach/Qb combos. And I enjoy the wins when we don't play so good more then blow outs. The Cowboy game was very enjoyable because those games we never used to win. I just don't analyze those types of games anyomore or read about them because there is to much negativity. All that matter this time of the year is winning to get in good position for the 2nd half run when the weather gets cold and we seperate then men from the Boys. Walt Michaels said football starts in November. But nothing but winning a Super Bowl is good enough for me so I don't care about being 26-14 under Rex or 4 road playoff wins. I have been wating to long for one Championship.

The first thing you have to realize is that there's two different competitions each year.

You participate in the regular season and if you "win" in there, you get to play in a whole different tournament known as the playoffs.

If you're obsessed with the second tournament, you'll never enjoy the regular season. Right now no one can win the superbowl, that's not on the table right now, so there's no point in waiting for the VLT in order to enjoy your team.

Right now, it's the moment to enjoy the weekly battles, and that surely has been great for this couple of seasons. Your mood should be a lot better even to go to work everyday -or at least on Mondays-. That's what makes this a great time to be a jet fan.

About the Super Bowl... there's almost nothing you can do right now to win it. That'll be on the table until a whole new tournament begin and then we'll start basically from scratch; as long as we keep on taking part on that tournament, things are great.
