I think this is a good investment for netflix. Guarantees views and WWE takes care of the mechanics of it's own productions. Much more cost effective than producing a show.

That said, I find anyone over the age of 8 who watches wrestling, suspicious.
Grown men watching a bunch of greased up roided up men fake fighting, amazing.
Freud would have a field day.

What about the woman matches? Would that make you happy? Just cuz it's scripted doesn't mean they don't take crazy bumps, and get serious injuries. There's comedy at times, and sometimes great acting/storyline.

That said, I do understand it's not for everyone. I keep up with it, but rarely watch a show, mainly YouTube clips.

5 hours of TV a week is just too much for me. Live shows though are way better than tv.

That’s kinda my problem. On a given day I’ll enjoy watching some matches.

But I can no way commit to watching every week 2,3times a week. So then I miss the story lines and some outcomes and things make no sense

Well I think stories told in wrestling if done right, can be special. You can binge a movie, or series, but I think the beauty of it is that it's told in real time. I can't binge, or fast forward to see what happens to the bloodline, or the judgment day. I have to wait just like them.

As for missing stuff cuz you didn't watch for a bit don't you worry they'll remind you 100 times.

Not that I think there's nothing to this, because Vince McMahon has some scummy buddies and we've come to learn that the highest levels of this country are just as highly debauched, but who would put it past Bezos to be behind the timing of this lawsuit? That guy's business practices are the next thing to organized crime.

See even this, watching for storylines. Yes, storylines as artificially, enhanced, half-naked bodies throw each other around. I can understand why women like it. Jacked half naked men with a bit of plot.
How grown men like it? I don't know. Aside from the blatant, fake violence and sexual tease, it's just a crass low thing. I do think less of people that watch it, just stupefying themselves at then end of an empires.

There is an excellent South park episode making fun of the WWE I think it's called W.T.F

I gotta disagree here. Grown men watch shows like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, etc. men can like drama. Besides the women wrestlers are half naked too. The bra and panties matches were fun for grown men

I've been a casual follower for years but the WWE/WWF used to be pretty cool and timely with their storylines. If we were fighting a war with the Russians/or the Arabs, etc. there would be a russian or arab type heel. The Iron Sheik was cool as fuck

if reality TV was all the rage, they'd spoof on that with a wrestler, etc. And you gotta admit, Stone Cold pounding miller lites in the ring is freakin cool.

I think after his era though they tried to go all family friendly and it got kinda lame

I'm not saying men don't like storylines. I'm saying the WWF stories suck. They are childish. It's only about the bodies and the glamour.
The women wrestlers may be half naked but so are the men, and they seem to be the main focus.

Stone Cold, I liked when I was 5. I'm old now. I like good beer. Pounding millers doesn't appeal to me.

Racist tropes about Arabs or Bolsheviks doesn't appeal to me. It's kids stuff.
I wasn't around in the 80's and that's when a lot of this stuff seems to have taken hold.

On a different I think Wrestling and the UFC even more so allow their audience to satisfy its bloodlust on a large cultural scale without the moral guilt of watching someone die.
I wish our nation had gladiatorial combat instead, you feed the same lust but it's morally honest, someone has to go. And the comparisons of America to a Roman empire would be made that much more clear.

I love it when all guys can complain about is the guys are half naked. Guess you hate the beach, and all things swimming too.

The stories are great, I could post multiple videos to prove it. I'm just not home right now, but I will. I still always defend wrestling.

    Whatever gets your rocks off.

But the stories are not great. They are adolescent at best, absolute crap at worst. None of the WWE stories will stand the test of time.
Shakespeare is great, Milton is great, Dostoevsky is great.
Vince McMahon is a businessman selling a product to rubes. Perhaps a good businessman, but neither he nor his writers are great storytellers.

Well duh maybe not compared to classic literature or film...

It's still enjoyable to watch nonetheless. At least imo.
