Breaking Bad House of Cards Arrested Development Orange is the New Black Mad Men (starting up again next week) Sherlock
Whenever I talk about TV it always circles back to HBO shows! haha I like your picks for shows. I still need to see Orange is the New Black. I tried watching the first episode when it first came out and was not interested.
sons of anarchy was good. netflix breaking bad changed the way i watch tv. absolutely the best show i have ever watched. netflix i just started true detective and thus far 3 shows in it is very good. hbo homeland on showtime was very good. first 2 seasons were fantastic, last one was decent. house of cards was very good on netflix i didnt get into mad men, i would watch it but felt like i was forcing myself to watch it so i stopped watching it,. anything that makes me stay up later than i want watching 2 or 3 episodes at a time is a great show in my opinion.
Exactly. This was THE show we couldn't turn off. We'd watch an episode and it'd end at 10:30, so we'd watch another and another and another and we'd look at the clock and it'd be after 2:00 am. A BRILLIANT show. _
Looks like this is the place to ask. I want to hop on to streaming. Meantime I am ready to replace one of my old TV's with a new one. Do I pay extra and get a Smart TV or just get a plain LED TV and get amazon fire or Roku instead to stream? Suggestions?
If you use iTunes a lot to buy TV stuff, get Apple TV. If you already have Amazon Prime, get the fire. Those two are really based on what you already have invested in for streaming/movies in my opinion. Besdies that, I think it comes down to preference. If you are already invested into streaming stuff like Hulu plus for example, I would check to make sure what apps do download to the TV vs the box and see which one has more of the apps you want to use.
roku, fireTV, chromecast, w/e. They can be replaced and upgraded much easier. Not so much your smarttv whos features can go boom at any moment once support drops. Also read this : Why Roku Matters More Than Ever http://gizmodo.com/why-roku-matters-more-than-ever-1558433873/+whitsongordon
On Netflix... Louie Breaking Bad Sons of Anarchy Dexter (the first 4 seasons, anyway) I just started Bates Motel the past few days.. it's enjoyable. Nothing too excellent by any means but if you're looking for something to watch after you've plowed through everything else it's certainly not the worst choice you can make.
Funny that, cos most people over here reckon that US shows are shitting on ours! Sherlock and Luther are the exceptions not the norm. You just get to see the good stuff and not all the rubbish. For all those talking about House of Cards, this was also originally a BBC series made 15-20 years ago. Very good it was too.
Mindhunter. Based on the FBI Profilers John Douglas, Robert Ressler, Roy Hazelwood et al. and the start of their FBI unit. Having read all of their books about serial killers and sexual predators I'm really enjoying this one. Gotta stick with it thru the 1st episode. The jail house interviews are particularly good as the casting for the likes of Ed Kemper, and Jerry Brudos are excellent. Oh, and the female lead Anna Torv as the psychology advisor is outstanding. Hazelwood, Ressler and Douglas used to appear on those true crime shows like 'The New Detectives' back when and it got me interested then. Hazelwood and Ressler have passed, Douglas is still around.
