I don't think there's any way that Philly would accept a 5th round pick in exchange for DJax, so I can't see that happening. Even if it does, and the Jets still draft an excellent WR prospect, how's that gonna work? The rookie would never see the field or get any practice reps once TC was over. He'd never develop, and I wouldn't want DJax mentoring him and poisoning his attitude. It just makes no sense to me.

We're in total agreement about Benjamin. I will puke if Idzik takes him, and will start thinking he deserves to get fired unless he snags him in the 3rd round or something.

I think bpa should be the guiding principle, but only that. I think the Jets have to come out of this draft with at least one WR, one TE, one DB, one OL, and one OLB. Need has to be taken into consideration. There are ways to combine the two without reaching for players and sacrificing quality.

That was the whole point. If they are willing to trade for 5th, ask for 6th. Give as little as you can and see if they still take it. I frankly think they would want day 1/day 2 pick at minimum, so I don't quite see how that's happening myself.

EDIT: I change my stance here. I didn't look up his cap figure before. At 10.5M/yr figure, he can go fuck himself somewhere else. I don't want any part of DeSean Jackson unless he agrees with a reasonable deal - that is, if Eagles let him go with 5th round pick or lower AND DJax coming at 6-7M/yr figure tops. I do not see this happening. He can take a hike.

As long as the kid is not coming in at 5'3" height, he should be a fine WR as long as he can gain good separation and catch well. Fade route? Holy shit - that's so Plaxico Burress. A WR that can get physical is a bonus for WR, but WCO runs like a well-calibrated machinery; precision and sure-handedness trumps the card any day of the week for WCO. Once I thought about this, I was sold on Brandin Cooks. Kelvin Benjamin? Not so much.

They will come away with these prospects at least - if the scouting department did sensible job. That is, without sacrificing quality and reaching for one.
