Lol at people like NYJetsRevis24 that are jumping to conclusions about Idzik in his first year. What moves did you exactly want him to do with the limited cap space he had at his disposal? Also, you act like he knew Goodson would be suspended for 4 games and that Winslow would get suspended for steroids. I think most of his moves were solid considering what he had to work with. Goodson shined in his 1st game back, Winslow is a solid reliable TE for Geno (too bad his knees are almost shot), Barnes was a solid situation pass rusher (too bad he's out for the year), Ivory might be the only pick I was skeptical on because of his past injury history, which has reared its head so far this season. He's still a question mark in MM's offense as well. Still, he's a punishing back with a lot of potential. Milliner I think will develop into a solid corner. I'll judge Idzik more next year and the year after that since we have 12 picks and about 50 mil in cap space after this season is done.
I think you are way off base here. Them being suspended his on Izdik how, exactly? And he has done plenty Mike T wouldn't have done. Mike T would have fallen in love with a few players in this draft, then traded away all our picks for them. Izdik didn't do that, and he still drafted some quality talent. And he unloaded the cap hell that your boy got us into, and has us in a position where we can pay some of our core guys some money AND sign a few quality FAs to round out the roster. Face it, man, Mike T was a good GM for a bit, then he just lost it and left this team in rough shape. I can't say whether or not Izdik will be a great GM, but at least he is off to a decent enough start.
As for the original post, this sucks. I actually don't blame Winslow for this, either. As others have mentioned, it's almost impossible to take a supplement that doesn't contain a banned substance. Yes, you should know what you are taking before you take it, but players get dinged on this all the time. I'm just gonna assume it was an honest mistake. Of course, that honest mistake is gonna hurt this team. He is one of Geno's best targets, and a hell of a football player. I like Cumberland well enough when he isn't dancing {that really was a terrible dance he did, but I am an "act like you've been there before" kind of guy}, but Winslow has proven to be a excellent safety net for our "quickly becoming beloved" rookie QB. Not having him out there for the next 4 games, 3 of which are NE, CN, and NO, is gonna hurt bad.
Idzik is following the immortal Trader Mike Tannenbaum who thought the NFL and Fantasy Football were one and the same when it came to drafting players. Of course you can see the drop off in how things are done these days in Jets HQ.

I'm probably misreading this, but you're saying Idzik is following Tanny? I disagree with that as of right now. Too early to judge fully obviously, but early signs show Idzik values draft picks much much much more than Tanny did which is a huge difference

I figured this Winslow resurgence was too good to be true. Can't complain as we good got production out of him and he should be back by Week 10.
Sad to see but Winslow's knees get a month off from taking a beating and hopefully he'll be back full speed for our playoff push. I'm excited to see what Cumberland can do with more targets I enjoy his athleticism and play making ability and he's barely a downgrade from Winslow. I'm also pretty excited to see Sudfield in action after all the preseason hype he got in patriots camp, the more targets for Geno the better. I'd say the offense doesn't miss Winslow too much for the next month and hopefully he'll come back with a good mindset getting this suspension behind him.
This draft has been amazing so far Sheldon Richardson and geno look great and winters was solid . Milliner I believe was hurting all year which is why he looked bad early on . He's a great corner
Dude it doesnt take a genius to see that Winslow has major issues hes been cut twice by playoff calibar teams the last 2 years,Same thing with Goodson another guy who coming out of draft had issues.Millner had a history of being very injury prone and of course he is injured.Barnes another guy with a history of being injury prone and hes doa.The verdicts still out on Geno for me.But these were gambles by the GM not thought out moves
