    Reyes ties with a double!

Reyes with an extra base hit. Shocker.

He did have 7 in 132 plate appearances before that at bat. Do you think that that is a low number for the person batting third in the order?

Since April 17 Matthews has 2 singles, 1 walk, and 11 strikeouts in 25 plate appearances.

Feliciano and Nieve - what a shocker. 5 of the previous 10 hitters to face Nieve had gotten on base, but hey, that doesn't mean that he might be overworked or anything.

We were lucky to get out of that.

By the way, does it disgust anyone else that Matthews can't seem to make any bat-to-ball contact even if his life depended on it?

Bernadina has a lifetime slugging percentage of .257 with 0 lifetime HRs and he hits two home runs today? Lovely.

Naturally we give up the first two home runs of this kid's career. What a day for him. Just kind of par for the course for us though.

Yep, that's why I said yesterday that I'm not a big believer in that principle. On the one hand, you could say that they came back twice in today's game, but on the other hand, it really doesn't matter when you lose anyway.

I hate the Nats. The Mets just never seem to be able to beat them.
