Wisconsin sucks as well this year too don't forget about them. Purdue who is usually at least an upper tier team is awful and your Rose Bowl team from last year just lost to Western Michigan albiet a very good MAC team and the Illini are struggling to keep bowl hopes alive. I have a friend who is a Northwestern grad and his philosophy is simple. If Northwestern is good the Big 10 is down.

As for the Big East and ACC..... they always suck so nobdody even talks about them to begin with.

The Pac 10 stinks too but I'd take my chances with USC against any team in the country and if Penn State or Michigan State end up playing them in the Rose Bowl it'll likely be as bad s the beating the Illini got last year although it would be cool to see MSU at least make the Rose Bowl.

I don't understand how anybody can say that the Big 12 isn't the best conference in CFB. 5 teams in the top 12 or 13 of the BCS. Florida and Bama are good but there is a major dropoff after those two. I know that's what you were saying though.

And if you wanna get technical the Mountain West also has 3 teams in the top 20 but after that we have a major major dropoff so I guess you can say they are the 3rd best major conference? Ok maybe not but they're definately better than the ACC and Big East. They do have an impressive out of conference resume though. I think as a whole 6-1 vs the Pac 10 and wins on the road against SEC and Big 10 teams. It's really a shame they didn't expand to 12 teams because I think had they brought Boise, Hawaii and Fresno in as was discussed they'd likely be a BCS conference. It's too bad BYU put the kybash on that happening.... fags.

I didn't say that the Big 10 isn't down just not to the proportion that the media is making it which considering it is the only conference that is being talked about being terrible, even on here I only hear about how down the Big 10 is. Now I am not talking about the Big 12 or the SEC because there is a large dropoff there. And honestly you can make a very good argument that USC is very strong and considering that the Rose Bowl is basically a 2nd home to USC so any team in the country would have a tough game against them there but since when does 1 team make a conference? And they are the only team in the BCS rankings.

Now you can argue who is better between the Big 10 and the Mountain West although the bottom of the Mountain west hurts your case as well as your big wins earlier in the year is turning into something that isn't much of an accomplishment.

And as for the WAC and the MWC combining or something like that well they can take the Big East's slot in the BCS conferences

I don't think the Big 10 is as down as people are making it out to be. I think alot of that falls on an Ohio State a team that returned what 20 out 22 starters being a major disapoinment. People just look at Michigan and Ohio State and what they see this year is two powers that are struggling. I don't care for the Big 10 because I think their style of football is boring when it comes to the college game but individualy they have some great players so watching a guy like Ringer in the Rose Bowl would be fun and your right the Rose Bowl is a home away from home for SC even though it's UCLA's home.

The MWC isn't better than the Big 10 but I'd take Utah or TCU against any Big 10 team on a neutral field. Honestly though these conferences should be re-evaluated every few years and if they don't have strong enough teams they should have their BCS status stripped. You'd have to go back all the way to Miami being in the Big East to find one of their teams that was good enough to win a championship and the ACC what FSU against Oklahoma in 2000? It's pretty clear that the top team in the MWC and WAC has been better than the most of the last ACC and Big East Champs the last few years with the exception maybe being West Virginia last year.

Then they should throw away that 2 team rule because unfortunately Texas, Tech and Oklahoma one of them would get screwed out of a BCS game and imagine if Mizzou upsets them in the Big 12 title game? Tech could be the #1 team in the country and lose to Mizzou and not even make a BCS game and neither would a top 5 Oklahoma or Texas because a Pitt team that got crushed by Rutgers is going to steal their spot.
