What a pathetic job Alderson has done in assembling ....if that's the word...this bullpen I can almost accept the Davis situation , Murphy to a degree...but the bullpen has been abject for 6 years ....now its the worst it has been....Torres, Familia , Rice, Parnell, Valverde and Lannan.....that's some achievement to create a bullpen that lousy Its no good having a good starting 5 when these guys are unable to control and close out the game....its going to be a long season
So, Parnell has a partially torn elbow ligament and might need surgery. It took exactly one day for the Mets season to end. And no, this isn't an April Fool's joke! http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on...artially-torn-elbow-ligament-may-need-surgery
She doesn't play fantasy baseball. I took the comment to mean that it is going to be a challenge to watch the Mets this year.
Now we get Kyle Farnsworth.....jesus..... I dont see why we dont get Montero up into the BP and assess whether he can be a closer..his mix of pitches ie fastball and 2 seam would suit the role as would his build....I understand the need to preserve our rights re arbitration but sometime we have to bite the bullet as DW will be 63 by time we get a complete roster
Problem is what if Montero comes up and stinks? I'd rather the Mets run through all other options before bringing up the youngsters. I understand your point. I just don't agree with it. Now, if the old bastards stink for the next two weeks, then the youngsters need to be strongly considered. Let's see how these next two weeks pan out.
If the Mets don't want to use Montero in the bullpen, I get that. But they have a couple of guys down there who are going to be relievers anyway once they hit the majors. Might as well make the transition now.
Once again the Mets get a quality start out of their starter, only to lose. The bullpen sucks. Farnsworth's going to give up at least a run every time he appears in a game, and it's hard to win baseball games scoring 1 run and averaging 15.5 strikeouts per game as a team.
Alderson's biggest decisions this off season -- keep Collins, add Grandersen, do nothing about the bullpen. which of those have worked out so far, and how badly does the team have to start before he is held accountable for it?
there's nobody to fire Wilpon, but Anderson is the one who dislikes Wally Backman who should be the manager.
maybe, but we have enough of a sample size to declare that the Mets have been 225-264 over the last 3 years in part because of Terry Collins. Can't say that I believe that to be a satisfactory record.
