I like this kid and Id definetly think spending a 2nd rounder on him is a good decision. We all know hes a great athlete and if hes as smart as he sounds theres no way he wont be good. We need us an intelligent ballhawk safety and he could replace kerry for us. He just seems to me like the kind of person who if he doesnt put it together right away is smart enough and will work hard enough to figure it out.

Myron Rolle was the #1 rated all-purpose athlete in the entire country coming out of high school.

Yes, I think he's a second rounder. Hell, if certain guys were gone in the first round, I wouldn't be upset if the Jets drafted him at #29.

I just have a feeling about this guy.

I've been saying he should go at the back end of the second since around December, but now that things have started to develop, I could honestly see this kid going at the end of the first. Especially if he has a great combine.

At 6'2 220, if he runs a 40 in the 4.4s like he's working for, he will FLY up draft boards.

Rolle is also going to crush every single prospect when it comes to the interviewing process.

I'm sure a few GMs will be ridiculously high on Myron Rolle.

Yea his combine is going to be interesting. If he has a great combine his draft status could fly up and make him a top prospect like he used to be. It will be interesting to see what kind of shape he is in after his break from football. The kid has shown nothing but hard work so I would be very surprised if hes let his game slip.

How would it be a good idea to use one of our 2 early round picks on him. I mean, I love him as a prospect and I think he can be a franchise staple but we have more pressing needs to look at with those 2 picks.

With Rex's defense we need better Defensive backs. I think that secondary help deserves a second round pick.

going to FSU I've met Myron a bunch of times (he caught me wearing his jersey on more than a few occasions and approached me) and he really is a nice guy. He was sort of a disappointment here at FSU though I guess people were expecting more big plays out of the top rated high school player but he was definitely solid and the year he left our secondary went straight down the drain but I think it had more to do with how young our secondary became.

He was in great shape at the Senior Bowl, and he was one of the better performers in Mobile.

Myron Rolle and Kyle Wilson were probably the two defensive backs that stood out the most to me.

Why pass on a potential great talent? ...especially a talent that plays a position that we could use an upgrade at.

I'm fed up with Kerry Rhodes, and I still think he'll be dealt before or during the draft. He doesn't fit in to what Rex Ryan is trying to do in New York.

We need defensive backs, not just corners. Myron Rolle would be an upgrade over Rhodes, Smith, and Ihedigbo. The only safety that deserves his starting spot is Jimmy Leonhard.

am I mistaken or does RHODES get money sometime in March??? I think that is the case so he could be dealt before then---------maybe at draft time but either way I am all in favor of cutting ties with Kerry Rhodes

I believe he's about to get a roster bonus. Dump this clown before his pay day...

I'm just saying I'd rather wait on drafting a safety seeing as Rhodes is still on the roster. Even if Rolle isn't there in the later rounds we can still draft someone talented in this loaded draft class of safeties. As I've previously stated I want to use our first 2 picks on an OLB and a CB.

Unless Brandon Graham, Jason Pierre-Paul, or Everson Griffen are there in the first or Eric Norwood, Ricky Sapp, and Sergio Kindle are there in the second, then we should go with a guy like Myron Rolle, if Kerry Rhodes is traded.

The only pass rushers I want in the first two rounds are Graham, Griffen, JPP, Kindle, Sapp, and Norwood. No one else is worth it in my opinion...and before someone says, but what about Jerry Hughes?!?!, I'm not high on him as a 3-4 OLB. I think his best bet is at 4-3 end.

At this point, the only defensive backs I'd take over Myron Rolle are Eric Berry, Joe Haden, Kyle Wilson, Earl Thomas, Chad Jones, and Perrish Cox.

You'd rather have Kindle and Everson Griffen over Jerry Hughes? BTW I think JPP is a fluke. There's almost too much to argue with about the DBs. I'm just going to say that I can't believe you aren't even mentioning Donovan Warren over a backup safety.

Yes , I'd rather have both Kindle and Griffen over Hughes.

I'm going to assume that you haven't seen Everson Griffen play. He's one of the most physically gifted linemen to ever put on a uniform.

You're probably looking at Hughes' numbers and blowing your load - I paid extremely close attention to him this season, and he struggled against teams with top tier talent like Boise State and Clemson. He stood out in a mid-major conference. I think it will be hard for him to take on NFL linemen, and to make a position switch.

You can think Pierre-Paul is a fluke all you want. It doesn't change the fact that he's 6'6 265, and runs in the 4.6s. The kid's an incredible raw football player, but he has more potential than almost any defender in this draft. He's not getting compared to DeMarcus Ware for no reason.

...and I'm just going to say that I can't believe you actually think Myron Rolle is a backup safety. ...because he took a year off from football for an opportunity of a lifetime? I think it's hilarious that some posters are bashing this kid because he's smart. Rolle worked out twice a day while he was at Oxford. He was in better shape than most of the players that participated in the Senior Bowl.

Finally, Donovan Warren is a top five corner on my rankings, but I think Rolle will be a better pro.

Don't get me wrong.. i like JPP too.. BUT!.. don't get too caught up on size and speed.. there is a ghost on this team that has similar RAW PHYSICAL SKILLS.. and has yet to incorporate them into football ability..

Don't get me wrong: JPP is nothing like Gholston.

Vernon Gholston has screwed up the way so many Jets' fans think.

It's so ridiculous. Every time a player with great measurables comes into focus, someone brings up Vernon Gholston.

...and please don't tell me not to get caught up in size and speed.

wow alot of you have obviously never seen Rolle play.

Mr.E as usual is one of the few who knows what theyre talking about when they say this guy is worth it.

I made my post regarding this in the draft forum but seeing as its the exact same platform ill repeat it the basic rundown of it.

Rolle is an amazing talent, hes not just a good story about a genius who happened to be a highly regarded prospect. the kids a player. i saw his whole career at FSU and was waiting to watch his career in the NFL and was dissappointed when he didnt declare for the draft before eventually going to Oxford.

people here can talk all they want but long story short someone is getting a hell of a player. hope that it could be us in the 2nd. my guess is after teams sit this kid down and pick his brain his stock might have him JUST out of our reach though.

I don't think it's that terrible an idea for the draft forum to have a significant increase in traffic during this period of the offseason. That's what it is there for. Our draftnicks have been preparing that forum for this all year.

I also don't think it's that terrible an idea for people to do a search of the draft forum for threads on certain players they are just hearing about at this point. The guys on this board that are knowledgeable about those players have likely expounded a ton about each of these players, for the most part.

Depending on what Roelle does at the combine and his pro day, his stock might go up to the 1st round. He has already moved up since the Senior Bowl. They were projecting him 3rd to 4th round, but moved him up the 2nd after the Senior Bowl.
