before this offseason id say yes your right....but its a waste of money based on the way this team is building....he just doesnt fit...you realize we arent going to throw the ball too much....cutler is tempermental and you dont think he'll start bitching and disrupting the locker room?? think again....
As I posted yesterday, after three years Cutler is +17 in TDs vs. Ints. That is great for a young QB. Especially on that team. Elway was -5. Brady was +27 but had gone to two SBs if I'm not mistaken.
I realize how this team is being built. Pound the rock, play solid defense and special teams, I get it. If you add a guy with Cutlers potential to a team that does all those other things well our team would be an instant superbowl contender. Insta.
cutlers a great player...but he isnt coming to NY other teams who want him have far more to offer than the jets....thats the bottom line
Ravens quality defense?? what!?.. yes we now have 2 former Ravens if the leonard reports are true.. but do not tell me that you believe that we are a lock for the 2nd best defense in the league... no way.. o we have potential.. ABSOLUTELY... im all jacked up to see what coaching from Rex and playing with Scott does to Gholsten.. but you need to calm down a little.. our defense has all the right tools to be dominant, lets just not get too ahead of ourselves...
think about it beyond a game of madden....cutlers attitude will play a role...hell want more chances to throw....itll turn into a TO/Whitten situation....distractions and power struggles in a unit like that will not go over well....ala Brett Favre last year....everyone said run the ball more but they didnt cuz Brett Favre is on the team....if Cutler was a laid back guy id say yes go for it.... but the fact is hes not and make no mistake about it, he will bitch and show frustration....
Dude, give it up with this run-first stuff. Eventually you'll have to pass the ball, be it if the running game is shut down or if you have to drive the field in under two minutes with the game on the line (see Superbowl winner this past year).
Man, there are so many Jets fans posting in this thread that don't realize... if we traded for Cutler, he'd be retired in a year and a half for some diabetes-related ailment.
ok....this is all really a moot point because the jets arent going to make a run at cutler... ppl dont get what theyre saying....everyone here just wants the best player rumored to be available regardless of the fit... this isnt a fit...
but its ok cuz hes the best player available via trade....so lets do it...who cares if he goes into a diabetic coma...actually he prob wont cuz he wont throw the ball as much as hed like...but he might have an anxiety attack
and has anyone thought for a second if Cutler was such a lock franchise QB its a little strange that Denver wants to trade him?? does this seem like something is going on ppl arent aware of??? the only thing i can think of is hes either not healthy or hes a bad attitude....either way ill pass....
On Sunday he mocks us for being the Redskins and then on Tue. he says we should do a Redskin. Besides, the only reason Cutler was available is to replace him with a QB they thought was better so why would they trade him for any other reason. What ass hole that goofy looking douche bag is
yes we can afford to pass, by keeping our draft picks intact. hell i like cutler but not for what denver would be asking for him.
"On Monday, a league source advised us that the new regime in Cleveland -- known lovingly in league circles as "ManKok" -- would likely be interested in Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler as an alternative to Derek Anderson and/or Brady Quinn." http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/93490-browns-interested-in-cutler?eref=fromSI "Mankok" Did he really say "mankoc" Seriously, about 26 teams in the league would be interested.
