"Wahhhh. I'm more important than the Jets as an organization. I'm under contract to make millions of dollars but they are hurting my feelings by not telling me their plans."

Go away Mevi$. Hope the door hits you in the ass on the way out. Bye-bye.

I was pretty much neutral about this whole issue for a while, but I am now starting to think we need to move on (although I understand it is much more complicated than this right now)

It's very very complicated. I think the Jets are just going to have to let events unfold and plan to be in position to jump on their best option when it emerges.

Revis is not easy to deal with when he's healthy and confident about his position in the sports pantheon and right now he's neither of those things. The next few months are going to be hard on the organization and hard on Revis and his people. Hopefully everybody comes out feeling good about whatever transpires in the end.

If Revis tries to turn this into a big media deal between now and June 1st everybody is going to be horribly miserable during that timespan. There's just no certainty for anybody and no way to get it any time soon.

We're still not going to know anything by then is my guess. The Jets will just pay the bonus and keep on waiting to see where things end up.

Revis is really pissing me off with his selfish whiny bitch act. He's doesn't show loyalty to the team when it comes to negotiations and he doesn't have to. At the same time he's in shock that the team isn't completely loyal to him.

If he wants to hold out for the biggest contract he can get then I'm not gonna hold it against him personally. This is a rough sport & players need to get the money while they have the chance. When Revis holds out, it's not an anti-Jets move. It's simply business. Once he signs, I know he'll come back to the team & try his best.

When the team is looking at his contract in a business like manner he's throwing a hissy fit. This is only a business when it's time for Revis to hold out. However, when it's time to evaluate his trade value, now it's an insult to Jets Nation? This guy is a self-centered ass clown.

Fans are usually short-term thinkers. Jets & all other organizations would be idiots to plan their moves around fans happiness. Once the Jets start winning, another player will become the face of the franchise & fans will come back.

Also: Why do you compare Revis & Sanchez but not Revis & Landry? Landry, our All-Pro Safety is walking out the door.

This is a valid point but you need to explain how the Jets get to Revis on the team and Sanchez off the team given the current cap constraints to make your argument fully relevant.

The only way I see Revis playing for the Jets next year is in a last year of contract situation where he is affordable and effectively as a rental for the year with a sandwich pick in 2015 between the 3rd and 4th rounds what the Jets get in return for him.

The Jets aren't going to have the cap space over the next few years to sign him to a new deal unless it is back-loaded, a no-no in previous negotiations with Revis. So it's hard to see where his need for a huge contract and the Jets current cap situation mesh.

Sanchez on the other hand is going to be very hard to trade given his performance issues and the contract that he has. Nobody is going to want to take on his contract *after* 2013 even if the Jets manage to pay most of the cap hit for 2013 in the deal. He's a "trade for to cut" for anybody else in the NFL right now given his salaries of $9M (2014), $12.5M (2015) and $10.75M in 2016. He has no value in a deal at this point except as a counter-balancing element.

Sometimes you wonder if Revis is doing this for the media attention. It's been...what. A month and a couple of days since word came out about his trade? He settled it with Idzik. Why say anything more now besides 'we'll see what happens'?

    Odd and shoddy reporting.

As for the fanbase: People know that Sanchez would not be on this team had he not been given an extension. I would hope that most people would be willing to give Idzik time to sort out the mess.

He wants a new contract every other year, yet is speechless when they talk about trading him. Lets be serious here. He is the best CB, but it is obvious he is more loyal to the money than the team. He needs to go.

But he is the best player on Jets team right now. Without him, Jets are destined for 0-16. Right? I mean... RIGHT!?

From what I saw, this "interview" was part of the ongoing coverage of his surgery and rehab. He wasn't bitching about it, just stating facts.

Now if this were still Tanny, he would have give him a 17 mil per year contract with 70 millii guaranteed after Revis' feelings were hurt.

After hearing this whiny crap I'm done with him. That's three strikes on him, only this time there's no holdout (because he can't).

He constantly bitches about his situation, he's a hypocrite and he somehow thinks we as fans will side with him? I know we have no faith in our organization, but part of the problem was having a GM tie up insane amounts of dollars in the cornerback position.

He's just not worth it anymore to me. Cro and Wilson are fine corners when the rest of the team looks like a pile of dog****.

I think it makes too much sense to trade Revis. We had the #2 pass D without him, and an absolutely shit offense that needs more talent.

I like how he refers to himself as the best player on the team though, classy.

again teams rarely passed since the run D sucked

we didn't play great passing teams

    Revis helps the run D

trading Revis doesn't make us "better"
