I remember. So I take it playoff wins don't mean as much as they did a week ago? If not, then that's fine. Just seemed more important when discussing Tony Romo a couple weeks back, and you guys can't brag on that enough when it comes to Tebow...
Nope The term is no longer British... Google it up....the first definition is: Arse= A Dallas Cowboy fan-100% of them... Bigger Arse= A Dallas Cowboy fan who worships an untalented phony like Tebow
LOL a British wannabe. Listen up MATE its British slang....and you are absolutely BARMY for using it :lol::lol:
You have me confused with someone who brings up the Steelers, I hardly ever do because (and I really mean this and not being sarcastic) anyone who does not give Tebow his credit for that win is delusional and not worth debating. He was, at a minimum , co MVP with Thomas. The excuse about the Steelers defense is laughable so I hardly ever bring the game up. When they Steelers went all in against the Run Tebow had 50 yards and a TD, if they did not go all in he might have had 150 yards and 3 TDs. So the fact that they did that was not some sort of goof by Lebeau it was a calculated risk BECAUSE of the run threat. Also the injury excuse I mentioned previously is awesome! Harrison and Polamalu , (both future hall of famers) were on the field and it can be argued that Denver was equally blasted by injuries. Miller was gimped out, Decker went out, Moreno was not there, Kuper was gone, Dawkins was out etc. It was a straight up game where Denver was the under dog , Tebow played GREAT and factored BIG in the win . I hardly ever bring it up because I wont even debate it, its silly. If you can't give Tebow his due for that ONE game at least then you are truly biased.
He only completed 10 passes. He was okay in that game. Perhaps his best game. Particularly that last one where he scored on a half court hook shot. To his credit, he managed to get it to Thomas who did most of the work on that play. I wouldn;t say he played GREAT, but he did make a few great plays. Something pretty few and far in between with that guy, especially in the first 55 minutes of most games. Also never said he shouldn't have gotten his share of credit, but Tebow fanatics as usual give him far too much. Shared MVP at worst? I'd say at best. Still think Thomas was, solely. Tebow was certainly one of the better Broncos on offense that day. Bronco defense still had to shut down that offense though. But they didn't have to spend the entire day carrying him either. None of that carried over for the next game though. Wanna talk about his performance on that one? ...and you DID tell me that Romo was the MAN in Dallas and the guy they should stick with for giving them the only playoff win for over a decade. Nice, but 1 playoff win in a 6 year career? Come on!!
Lets forget about the Steelers .... Romo is a true chicken and the egg argument. without Romo there is no elimination game, we go back to 5-11 every year . with Romo you get the elimination game but cant push past it. In my honest opinion better to get to the elimination game and give him pieces on defense that can get us over the hump . QBs who are in the top five ALL TIME in the NFL in QB rating do not grow on trees. Last year he handed the Dallas D 5 double digit leads in the 4th in games we lost (that is still one of the most mind boggling stats ever) this year he had 5 game winning drives late in the 4th and we trailed in ALL 16 games (first time that an 8 win team does that ever). yeah Romo fucked up on the last drive but without him we would have been 4-12 get me a better solution and I will gladly switch to it...I am still waiting for that list you were going to provide for me on QBs that we can switch out for Romo. We can debate Tebow for all eternity but Romo is in my wheel house and I am telling you what I am saying is the truth. Just believe me on this one.
Wow. So you simply subtract Romo from the equation and assume that no competent QBs are available anywhere, so you're stuck with a 3rd stringer starting under center and so the Cowgirls tank the season. Kyle Orton probably would have won Dallas more games this season. Not because he's a better athlete than ol' Dimples. Because he's a SMARTER QB. He makes better decisions and fewer dumb mistakes. He understands how to run an Offense, doesn't try to do it all himself and involves his teammates in getting the job done. Aside from the dumpster fire that Josh McDaniels turned the Denver Broncos into, Orton has NEVER had a losing record any season he's been a starting QB (and he was on crappier Offenses than Romo ever had). Romo has gone the last 3 years without posting a winning record for the season. But Romo is flashy and charming, so he must be a great QB.
Kyle Orton...wow... 5th ranked QB in history versus Kyle Orton. Dennis I say this in the most delicate way possible, you are a complete moron. Romo was injured one of the 3 seasons you mentioned. stop reading cliff notes...get involved..
Wow again. I won't get sucked into childish personal attacks. ALL QBs PLAY HURT. In 2 of Orton's winning seasons, he play with high-ankle sprains. He's also played with an open displacement a finger of his throwing hand - the bone was sticking out. Sorry "Dimples" got a boo-boo. But that's life in the NFL...
My bad on the personal attack you are right, I hardly ever do that but Kyle Orton? He is a cowboy now and I support him but not as starter over Romo.
You really should have read that post I made immediately after you asked for the list. It would have saved you a lot of waiting. I CLEARLY said that you were probably right, that there really isn't a glaring option out there that jumps out at me. That doesn't mean the Cowboys shouldn't start exploring some of the youngsters in the draft. Cuz one playoff win in over a decade, and one in a six year career for a QB amounts to a fail for a lot of people. Romo might have a few cute stats to hang your hat on to, but he's middle of the pack at best. Not elite, but by far not the worst. ....and BTW, thanks for an honest debate as opposed to the personal attack tripe from Demos.
Yeah I remember now. I certainly do think its time to look for his successor via the draft, look at Wilson, Foles, Cousins all picked in later rounds. You can find talent to groom or even start these days.
I was using Orton as an example. You were acting like Romo is the only QB that the Cowboys could ever win with. I didn't have to look any farther than Romo's own backup - Orton - to find a capable QB with a winning record. So finding a replacement for Romo isn't as impossible a feat as you were suggesting...
Orton can win... as long as he isn't asked to score a lot of points. Kinda like Tebow. Most of Orton's wins came the same was Tebow's did... with a defense that gave up very little. Orton beneffitted from that a lot. His game ONLY works when everything else is going right. So while he IS servicable when things are going well as a game manager, don't expect him to steal you any games. There REALLY is more to a win/loss record than taking it at face value. Almost all of his record went as the defense did. He was just along for the ride. I can't really recall a game where I said, "wow, Orton really pulled one out for us." By contrast, Jay Cutler got the Broncos to an 8-8 season WHILE dealing with a defense that gave up almost 30 points per game. So while he had his issues and flaws, he was far better IMO than anything we had since then until Manning came along. Even that ranks Cutler near the middle of the pack. That eye test and looking at the WHOLE picture behind a win/loss record doesn't really make Orton look good at all. No way is he an answer in Romo's place. He can hold the fort though for a couple weeks when he doesn't have the pressure of keeping his starting job looming over him. That was disasterous for him in Denver. Just further proves IMO that he's no leader either.
