When the Lphins beat someone else they like to come here to gloat because they never beat the Jets. Basically it's there only opportunity to talk shit to Jets fans. It's sad really. Some of them are regulars so that doesn't apply to all of them.
Unfortunately Buffalo plays very, very few tough games this year. They probably have the weakest schedule in the league this year.
My Personal AFC Rankings.... 1. Denver - Not much defense here, but Cutler to Marshall is the best QB-WR combo in league. They also finish with a cake schedule this year. The Broncos should be a major contender this year.... 2. Indianapolis - They may not look like the 30+ points Colts of old, but they soon will. I have a feeling Manning is still getting warmed up for what's to come.... 3. Tennessee - This team is all defense, and they're winning because of it. I have a feeling the Titans will end up sliding soon due to a lack of offensive playmakers. They are a very well coached team, and are extremely disciplined, but just don't have the players they need on offense to really make a serious run. Just my opinion.... 4. Pittsburgh - Banged up on offense, and yet still finding ways to win. The Steelers are likely one of the most balanced teams in the AFC right now in my opinion. If they get Parker back soon, and Berger stays healthy, they will be a contender.... 5. Buffalo - Wow, what can you say about the Bills? They are a young team, they are very well coached, and have been playing extremely balanced football thus far. Both sides of the ball were upgraded this off-season, and the only thing this team is missing right now is a QB that can stay healthy. Buffalo is without question THE sleeper pick to win the AFC East in 2008.... 6. Jacksonville - Don't let the Jaguars record fool you, this team is just going through a bad patch / funk right now. They can run the ball, throw, and play some bone crunching defense. I expect to see Jacksonville turn things around soon, and finish the restof the season strong.... 7. New York - I'm having trouble figuring this team out. They have all the players needed to be a serious contender, but can't seem to make it all work on a consistent basis. One week you struggle on offense, and the next you put up a 50 burger. Right now, I see a very strong team, but one that is still a work in progress when it comes to finding it's true identity.... 8. Miami - Some may say this is too high for Miami, but personally I think Miami is better than all of those teams below us. This is a well disciplined team, and one that is very hungry to change it's loser mentality of the recent years past. They've bought into what Parcells / Sparano are coaching, and I only expect them to improve as a result. We may not contend for anything in the end, but I'm sure we'll ruin someone's playoff dreams.... 9. San Diego - This team is in trouble, and it's the coaching that's causing most of the problems in my opinion. The Chargers are as good as any team on paper, but they can't seem to make it all come together. I think N. Turner is their weakest link.... 10. Baltimore - The Ravens still have one of the best defensive units in the AFC, and rookie QB J. Flacco is looking promising for the future. They may not be in the race entering the final turn of the season, but they are certainly heading in the right direction... 11. New England - The Patriots defense is old, and it's starting to show major signs of decline in my opinion. This team can no longer play from behind either now that Brady is out for the season. I don't think the Patriots will contend at all, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish last in the AFC East.... 12. Cleveland - The 2008 AFC sleeper turned out to be nothing more than a snoozer. Anderson is struggling big time, and Edwards hasn't lived up to the hype he had surrounding him entering the 2008 season. Let's not forget that the defense has been mediocre at best. This team is lost right now, and unless they have a major turnaround in the 2nd half of the season, the chances of them contending are zero.... 13. Houston - This is your typical "punch you in the mouth, and then lay down" team. They can score in the blink of an eye, but can't seem to stop anyone from having their way with the defense. They have work to do in my opinion.... 14. Cincinnati - The Bengals offense isn't cutting it, and it's mainly due to C. Palmer in my opinion. He looks terrible right now, and very uncomfortable in the pocket. The running game hasn't been a factor either which makes things even more difficult offensively. As for the defense, they're still looking for one that can keep them competitive.... 15. Oakland - The only major problem in Oakland is Al Davis. This team might actually start to build something worth watching if he wasn't involved.... 16. Kansas City - Poor Herm, he's just like Wanny. Great guy, very good teacher, but a terrible head coach. Kansas City has been rebuilding since his arrival, and nothing has really changed. The KC fans / media have been too good / patient with Herm in my opinion, and after the 2008 season is over, I wouldn't be surprised to see him dismissed / replaced....
THIS SEASON? (which is how these rankings shoud be based).... the colts THIS SEASON are not the colts of old.....so far....why rank a team based on what they have done in previous seasons and what they COULD do in the future??? if you wanna use the "consitent" word....then based on how you rank them.....the dolphins have been "consistantly" bad.....so they should be wayyyyy lower or not ranked yet...... how rankings should be decided is what has been done THIS season so far.....and buffalo regardless of schedule should be ahead of indy......pitt also.... indy SHOULD have lost to your 13th ranked team....its not making sense imho
I'm going to call this idiot out. Miami has a much weaker remaining schedule for the rest of the year. Their future opponents currently have 6 more losses than wins while the Bills opponents have 1 more win than losses. For those scoring at home, strength of schedule based on wins-loses for the AFCE for remaining games: Fish: -5 Jets: -1 Buff: 0 Patsies: 4 SoS for games played is: Buff: -8 Patsies: -4 Fish: 2 Jets: 2
Maybe you and I just don't rank our teams the same way... I'm not only taking into account what has transpired so far this season, I'm also trying to look at the big picture, and in doing so I'm trying to speculate where these teams are headed in the future weeks to come. Maybe that's not what you're looking for, but that's the way I set my current rankings up. Thanks....
soooooo your rankings take into effect "what might happens" ?? what if manning breaks his neck and they lose every remaining game? it just doesn't make sense your predicting the future (trying to) with rankings reflecting something that hasn't happened yet......but whatever....your welcome.
I refuse to place upstart teams ahead of proven teams just because their records are a little better at the moment. Pittsburgh and Tennessee are the top teams. Denver and San Diego are probably next even though SD is struggling a bit right now. They always do that early in the season. Teams like Baltimore and Indy are going to lose plenty of games yet. Inday should have lost yesterday. 2 gift fumbles saved their asses.
If that happens, I guess I'll have to "update" my rankings..... I'm not predicting anything, I'm merely speculating. I guess you're having some difficulty knowing the difference.... Speculate - think, reflect, cogitate. 2. conjecture, guess, surmise, suppose, theorize Predict - To state, tell about, or make known in advance, especially on the basis of special knowledge. To foretell something; prophesy
i cant PM due to post count so here you go lol....when i need advice, i can ask.... sounds like someone has their edible-panties all in a bunch no? i call you out on your ranking strategy.....and you pm me with subliminal messages bashing my spelling.....aww how cute, whats this middle school? hoo givez a shit howe eye spel ?!? all that matters is the SUBJECT....and your ass cant take someone with a different opinion, or someone who doesnt agree with your shit.....get the fuck over it....like i give a shit what some football fans or "peers" like you call them.....feel about my spelling ability! hows the weather up on your pedistool bro!?
Obviously you don't..... Hey, no sweat off my sack, I was just trying to be helpful. If you enjoy coming off as an ignorant person, have at it....
Just for the record, all I've done here is defend my opinion. You haven't seen me going around trying to pretend that my opinion is somehow more accurate than any of the others here have you?? I certainly haven't questioned your rankings / opinions have I??... From my chair, YOU appear to be the one who can't take someone having a differing opinion. You proved that by responding to mine in the way you did that first time.... I weep for our future.....By the way.....
