Great write up Thunderbirdjet, thanks for the great write up. Not to beat a dead horse (well, maybe a little), but this is the kind of write up I would love to see from the New York beat writers: observations about how the players performed and what the team actually practiced. Maybe if these guys actually tried reporting what went on at practice, they could figure out the depth chart for themselves.
He listens to Mike and the Mad Dog, they go through the schedule weeks ahead of time and tell you who will win every game. Actually, Mad Dog reads off the games and Francesa tells you who wins. Saves champ a lot of time, that and all the abbreviating.
cheers for the BG report mate...and yes, keep doing those Graham reports, they were awesome, i really hope ben goes on with it this year and even sneak into a play or two, but i just hope that watever he does he is successful at it. id love to hear amap about benny and his kicking.
Vilma can play inside in the 3-4. It's just that he will not be the dominant player that he was becoming in the 4-3. Maybe Mangini is satisfied w/ having a solid defense w/o Vilma having a mojor role. The question is will Vilma be satisfied. As much as it pains me to say this, I think we should just trade him if we are not going to use his talents to the fullest.
This FO's mantra has been, since day 1, that they would maximize the talent on the roster in their gameplanning. Using Vilma at a diminished capacity due to his size doesn't sound like that to me at all.
I don't know what he has done in camp but "that guy with the really long name" has played very well in our 2 pre-season games.
Someone PM'd me about Barlow and Rasby. Not much more to add about Barlow to what I've already said, but I really didn't notice Rasby at all. Frankly, I'd forgotten about him, so I wasn't looking to see what's what. I imagine like Barlow, he's still trying to learn the playbook. Rasby has been around a long time, and is just another player type, I think. He had a solid chance in Washington, but didn't do anything with it. Once they got Cooley, they let Rasby walk. If the Bills cut him.... I have my doubts he has much chance of making our roster. I did notice that Dearth does nothing but long snap. He even hangs out with Nugent and Graham. I may have to replay the game against Washington... I thought I heard the annoncers say Missant handled the snap on a PAT. If Dearth gets cut, I'm sure some other team would pick him up.
I know I said I would stop talking about it, but that is just too perfect. Nice one GM! Champ = hmy: GM = Alio = :rofl2:
Sadly, Chad's arm might be fine now...but every REALISTIC Jet fan knows that everytime he take a hit......you are going to look at Chad and wonder if that is the last time he gets up.......kind of like a TKO.........
It's true, but in the NFL every player faces that. Bo Jackson was built like a brick s**thouse and had never gotten hurt. One tackle and his whole career was over. One hit to Culpeppers or Palmers knee, one good hit on Brees arm...you can say the same thing about a lot of guys.
Yeah, I totally agree here. Every player is one hit away from disaster. I didn't see people flipping out like this when Vinny T was coming back from a ruptured Achillies. There is no reason to believe Chad will immediately get hurt when he gets hit. There's no reason to believe he will get hurt at all. Besides, he has already taken a very similar shot, and was fine.
