I think there is a difference between darksider, realistic, and optimistic. I feel like most people who classify themselves as "darksiders" right now are actually realistic because guess what the Jets aren't in a great state right now. There are posters on both ends of the darksider and optimistic spectrum, but I feel like most fans are in the middle, the realsitic part. And when we are doing, the realistic group looks like optimists and when we are doing bad they look like darksiders, rightfully too. Then there are the select few fans who say if the Jets do "So and so move I am never rooting for them again", I don't know what to classify them as. If you lived through the Jets recently and longer, what could they do that would shock you enough to never root for them again?
Part of being a fan is holding your team accountable when they fuck up. If everyone did as you say and not complain during the bad times, then where is the incentive for ownership to try and improve the team? Why would an owner fire a gm and then go pay another one? Why would he do that if every fan thought the way you did?
