    Two things.

#1. It's entirely too early to be drawing any hard conclusions. Spagnuolo interviewed with the Jets last year (to the delight of many) and where did he end up coaching?

    2. We're promoting him if we make him DC we're promoting him, so we don't owe any type of compensation for him. Sorry to infringe on your breakdancing.

thats not the issue...the issue is he is the absolute WORST defensive coordinator I've ever seen....please never compare spagnuolo to bob sutton ever again LOL

the compensation is just taking him out of our organization

I compare the possibility of the Giants hiring Sutton to bringing a chick home from the bar to fornicate, knowing FULL WELL she has gonorrhea....but you're gonna bang her anyway.

I think it's pretty obvious he was joking .. I don't think anyone would give compensation to a team for hiring a linebackers coach, yet alone Bob Sutton. The Jets should be giving the Giants compensation for taking him.

And yes, we know this doesn't mean that he is going to become the Giants' next defensive coordinator... But it's pretty funny to us Jet fans that he's being looked at anywhere for a promotion after the horrible job he did here for a couple seasons.

Way to treat the longest tenured member of our coaching staff. You guys are brutal. Give Sutton a break, he's had to work under Duh Herm and Manidiot for crying out loud. When we have a good head coach our LB's play great Groh/Ryan! Heck, he even did good in Manidiots first year here. In my opinion, Bob Sutton deserves better from us.

Sutton deserves the fans' collective size 12 up his ass and out the door.

I'm sorry...i never embraced his 2-8 alignment that he embarrassed the defense with last season.

Bob Sutton got a lot more from the Jets than he deserved.

we shouldnt have to worry about pettine or sutton going to other teams and giving out our defense because we have something that makes it work better then them. Darrelle Revis is the number 1 factor our crazy ass blitzes work. Without him playing man D on the best receiver and denying him our blitzes would lead to big plays all the time. Our good corner play is the only thing that makes it work as well as it does.

Aside from being the longest tenured coach, what can you definitively say that Sutton was responsible for, and ultimately deserves praise for?

    - So far, he was a LB coach for one season under the Parcells/Groh regime.

    - After that, he was retained in the same capacity under Herm with a defensive scheme that he was completely unfamiliar with (Tampa 2) and which ultimately failed miserably - followed by Donnie Henderson, who had some success trying to implement a Ravens attack scheme for a couple of season before Herm high-tailed out of here.

    - Then Mangini, who promoted him to DC and seemed to give him zero responsibility. That was also a failure on the coaching side.

    - Now he is demoted to LB coach again, somehow keeping his job with a 4th regime.

So far, he seems to be a very accomplished yes-man and figurehead position holder. He's a barnacle on the hull of the Jets. I'm not sure that is something worthy of praise.

As are Dom Capers and Jerry Gray and John Fox and most coaches with a pulse. I doubt anything gets done fast, John Mara made it very clear that this is unacceptable and he will be deliberating on what direction the team goes in next. The purging may not be over yet.

Capers is already the DC of the Packers, he can't become DC of the Giants unless Green Bay fires him.

To be fair, Sutton can't possibly worse than the boob the Giants had as DC this year.

I'm pretty sure Capers is the Defensive Coordinator in Green Bay.

Hmmm. Did they demote him during the season? All reports had him hired as DC. I think that page is wrong.

Packers.com has Trgovac listed as DL coach, and Capers as DC.
