I was reading the Philly.com (Inquirer/DN) sports comments and a few people there mentioned Douglas. But most of the ire was directed at "Howie", Petersen, and Lurie. Man....3 years removed from a Super Bowl. Ingrates.........
All I can say is, "Please Jacksonville. Please. please hire Dabo Swinney." The very notion has me unexpectedly excited. Before people ask why, I have been in the cash out Lawrence camp all along - if the offer is high enough.
I disagree with your opinion -- but respect it. Hopefully, we have some favorable facts and more defined parameters to discuss this in 3 weeks.
Every time I read one of these articles I think, "Well this is the Jets. Wouldn't shock me if it happened."
Thank you! And I respect yours. If the Jets do end up with the #1 pick in 3 weeks, then the discussions really will ramp up. I like to let things play out first. Including how Clemson and Ohio State play in the upcoming weeks. Still, I guess it is cool that we have something to talk about and look forward to during this horrendous winless season.
I'd trade him for a dynasty. Its too early to say yet, but if everything goes right we could have the most legendary draft in history. But its still too early to get excited. Not everything has lined up.
If asked who are the least attractive teams to play for, Trevor Lawrence would be either an idiot or a liar if he did not list the Jets at very near the bottom. Who cares about the new HC, GM, scouting staff, uniforms, ball boys, etc. when the incompetent ownership remains the same. Being a disgraceful organization starts at the very top and works its way down...not the other way around.
TL will play for the Jets if drafted - confirmed. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/likely-no-1-nfl-draft-224625385.html
A bunch of people who don’t know him, have never spoken to him, simply theorizing reasons why he could choose to do something so rare that it’s not worth being concerned over, and I’m supposed to believe their speculation warrants any merit rather than regard it as simply desperate sensationalism aimed at attracting readers for their own benefit?
Reminds me...maybe I'll create a thread on this...besides NFL football this Saturday (yeah, SATURDAY).....you can see Trevor Lawrence (4 PM) and Justin Fields (Noon) in their Conference title games and then watch Kyle Trask of FL vs. Mac Jones of Alabama in the SEC game (@ 8 PM).
Met Life Stadium is the "Shea Stadium" of the 21st Century. A Boring Orafice. I'll never know WHY we cant have nice-looking things in New York???
Well....I guess we can always discuss the Jets scintillating season and the prospects the next 3 games. These forums always get hot when discussing the merits of 0-16 vs. 1-15 vs. 2-14 vs. 3-13.....
At some point in my life I would love to have the opposite discussion - whether we should stay undefeated or whether it's better to go 15-1. One can only dream....
It’s not going to happen for quite a few reasons. The Cowboys would have to refrain from using the franchise tag on Prescott long before the draft. Then what if the trade fell through? They would be without Prescott or Lawrence and nothing to show for it. This is just people looking for a headline that doesn’t exist.
First of many stories about this stuff. Actually, I hope they keep Sam and sell the No.1 pick for multiple players this year and next.
Yeah for example if that Dallas offer of their #4ish pick, three (three??) other #1's and a 2nd round "or two" is actually ever on the table? Good god. The NFL draft would be the Jets own little personal talent grab for the next 3 years and not even this franchise could screw that up. I don't see how that can't be at least seriously considered if for no other reason than it spreads out risk so much.
We could hit on EVER ONE of those picks and if we don't have a good QB...... We traded the #1 pick in 1997 and that blew up in our face when we let Orlando Pace go.
