    FIFTH ROUND

Aldrick Robinson, Wideout, SMU, 5'10 184

Robinson is my ideal slot prospect.

The college passing game is constantly evolving. I've come to realize that the best slot guys in the league are coming out of run and shoot spread offenses like Hawaii, Texas Tech, and SMU run.

Wideouts that play in the run and shoot have to run option routes and the good ones know how to get open. Robinson finds openings all over the field, but mostly over the middle. This offense lacks a true option in the slot and he would fill that hole.

This kid might not be the biggest or the fastest player, but he has excellent body control and rarely drops passes. He also has experience as a return specialist.

The lack of the most-wanted combo (ideal size + speed) will hurt his draft stock a bit.

This is another very productive prospect that may get overlooked a bit.

like Robinson, but the more I think about it, the more I am unsure about taking a WR in the draft if we expect to have J-co Braylon and Tone for the next 3 years minimum.

I think a team like the Steelers have proven that the more receivers the better. Even after loosing Holmes they have great WR's (besides Ward) drafted in the last 3 years Mike Wallace, Emanuel Sanders, and Antonio Brown.

We have 3 great WR's IF 2 of them are signed back. After them we have Brad Smith? I mean there's depth but having solid WRs coming off the sidelines that can develop consistently isnt as bad by any stretch.

brian baldinger on nfl network is saying the jets should be drooling over phil taylor, sigh...i hate how they think we need him soooo much meanwhile we have sione pouha and much more pressing needs at OLB and DE

They look at the Kris Jenkins impact and think that replacing him with a young kid who reminds everyone of him will make the difference.

The difference is replacing Bryan Thomas with someone who is a constant threat to the QB, and finding a DE who can occupy 2 OL so that the OLB can win the 1 on 1 battle.

^i believe we have to get a OLB who can start and make an impact right away and get pressure on the Qb...along with a solid DE would be great

just watched phil taylor's some of the OSU game and he did not look impressive and definitely not a first rounder. I guess the only thing people see is his size when they grade him in the first

Senior Bowl helped him too. That's where this comes from with Taylor.

I think he's going to go in the very early 2nd, but it wouldn't shock me if he's a 1st round pick with a team that's NT needy.

I don't think the Jets are NT needy.

Let's see if you get any of these picks right.

It's not an obsession for a gigantic nose. Rather, it's the paranoia from the past - some tepid tub of lard named Dslob was always getting pushed 5 yards back on every running play, and he played nose at 315. (Can't nobody block me? Good fucking Riddance!) If Paea can sustain consistent double-team at current weight, then I'm on board as well.

E// So far, I have loved your picks. Realistically though, do you think the low draft picks (4th and below) will pan out and stick to the team? I'd really love to see all the top picks (NT/FS/OLB) pan out in one draft. (That's better than the Mangini era picks, where you almost always got 2 instant starters per drafts, sans Ghost.)
