Nothing says over rated like being reigning Super Bowl Champs and being picked to finish 3rd in your division........

Those are fans. Most fans over rate their own team.

Atlanta Falcons...been saying they are overrated for a few years now. I can see them maybe winning their division(Because of what happened in NO) but they will once again embarass themselves in the playoffs. Anytime Mr. Overrated John Abraham is your top defensive player, that just seals the deal.

Smith can't win the big game a lot of the time, "Matty Ice" is anything but ice in January and Turner's breaking down due to age. Jones and White are nice WRs but add an elder Gonzo who may be in his last year and this is a team that I can see go anywhere from 10 wins to 6 wins.

Now I think this team has a potential to be an AFC powerhouse with all cylinders clicking and Arian Foster going off, my most overrated team is the Texans. Can everyone step back on these Super Bowl predictions. Schaub might be one of the best qb's in the game but he's injury prone. Andre has been having lingering injuries over the years and there's nothing too exciting around him in the receivers department.

Not to mention they lost their best two players on defense this off season. I'm sorry you don't lose Demeco Ryan and more importantly Mario Wlliams then cruise to 12-4.

DENVER for sure - just because they have him they have to see what happens when he gets hit in a real game full speed. . . . we shall see

I think Texans are most overrated team in the league this year. After that Bills, then Falcons.

People have been talking them up all off-season as some model franchise. They were 9-7 and got some breaks in the playoffs, in the AFC they probably don't make the playoffs.

Texans have been a hype machine for years now. Once they either get over the hump OR people give up on them I bet that mantle gets passed to Tampa Bay.

Giants - They are rated top 5 by every analyst. They went 9-7. They got tons of breaks during the season and then the post season. When the Jets went 9-7 and went on to the AFCCG, they were lucky and not deserving, but somehow Giants are deserving?

Panthers - I've seen them rank very high. I don't think they are a playoff team just yet. Cam is good, but he's not Dan Marino. He'll struggle this year to some extent IMO. Not sure about their D.

Steelers - Yes, you heard it here first. I think they will have an average season and will struggle to make the playoffs. Ben has two new rookie OLs. The line was already in shambles and now they have two rookies that have struggled in the camp. Ben is good at avoiding pressure, but remember, Ben has been one of the most sacked QB over the last few years. His OL wasn't as bad as the number of sacks it gave up. It will be bad this year, and those number of sacks will go up. I wouldn't be surprised if he misses a few games due to injury this year. Their D is getting old and not the same anymore. They still might win 8-9 games, but they'll struggle to make the playoffs unless a few lucky bounces.

    Teams NOT overrated:

Bills - I don't think they are overrated. I think they will be a 7 - 8 win team. I don't see them winning more than 8 though, but 8 games is definitely a fair assessment. They are ranked in the middle of the pack and thats where they belong this year. I think they won 6 games last year, that too after they had several injuries all around the board.

Lions - I don't know why people think they are overrated. They have the best WR in the league. They have Suh, who I think is the best DL in the NFL. But most importantly, they have Stafford. He's a top 5 QB in the league. I think they'll win 10+ games again this year. Once Best is 100%, that offense can really take off. I'm really big on Jahvid Best. I think he is a top caliber RB. His injuries is what has limited him thus far. I really hope he gets 100% as he has become one of my favorite RB.

Denver - I watched their pre season games with Manning behind the center. He looked sharp. If you think D Thomas is not going to be a big factor this year, think again. Manning had a receiver named White (dont remember his first name) few years ago and he turned him in to a six or seven hundred yard receiver with a few TDs. I believe he's out of the league now. Not surprised. I think Thomas will have a monster year catching from Manning. Denver still has a bad division. It should win 10+ games, the division, and playoff appearance.

    Most UNDERRATED Team

Jets - I could be a homer, but I'm trying to backup my statement with reasoning. Why are the Jets considered to be a 6 win team? It baffles me. The team went 8-5 last year before Sanchez got hurt and played like shit. Now he's healthy. He's got a deep threat Jets lacked last year. I believe Howard fixes the RT woes. On the defensive side, we have the youngest DL in the NFL, and a good one at that. Coples showed flashes why he was considered the best defender to come out only a year ago. Mo is playing great. If Ellis starts, he too showed flashed why some teams had him ranked as high as a first round pick. Over to the safeties, jets weakest link on defense last year, we now have safeties that TEs will fear catching the ball over the middle. Not the best cover safeties, but at least they are better than what we had last year (Pool and Smith). I honestly believe Jets will win 10-11 games. If Sanchez matures as much as expected, we might win 12, but thats a big if.

Come on folks you all know that the New York Jets are (according to all experts and talking heads) are the most over rated team in the NFL. Hell we should not even be playing on the same field as the top Pro teams. With our (Big mouth Coach and lack of talent in ALL the skilled positions, we would be lucky if this team were able to play in the Arena league...

I would say the Pats are overrated. Sure, look at their schedule, and they can probably get 13 wins in the regular season. But they should have lost to the Ravens last year, lucked out drawing even luckier Denver the week before, and were beaten soundly by a not great Giants team.

This year should not prove to be any better, and possibly worse once the playoffs arrive.

    Agree x100000!

I never understood why the Giants were "so deserving" getting where they got, but yet when we came one game away, we were bound to lose and never deserved it. Never understood that either.

As for this year, I agree also 100%. Our defense is STACKED. We will definitely have a top 5 defense, I think probably the best defense in the league. That alone can carry us far. All we need to do is turn the ball over less and we can get those extra wins that we missed out on last season. I think we will at least go 10-6. It will all be revealed in 3 days.

    Until then:

    "The Haters Gon' Hate" :)

They won 8 games last year, 3 of which were incredibly lucky, something that isn't sustainable moving forward. I still don't think Denver is a playoff team, even with Manning.

I agree their passing defense looks to be ok this year, but the run defense is probably only marginally improved if at all.

Overrated Teams: Steelers, Bills, Kansas City, Dallas

Others mentioned: Panthers (may not be playoff-bound but they're one of my Most Improved Team picks this year along with Oakland [[not sure why I even bothered trying to predict Most Improved, no way I beat Houston-Detroit picks last year]])

Broncos: Improved weakest position (QB), and added an arsenal of offensive weapons.

Philadelphia: Decent team that needs health and discipline (fewer turnovers) to succeed. Can't call them overrated.

You realize that both those players had zero impact on the team last year during their success right?
