I understand where you are coming from. But football is a game, and every game has intrinsic value. In order for a play to be memorable, it need not be connected to some symbol or honor, as you obviously believe. One can acknowledge the importance of a championship without denigrating the simple positives of a single game or even (as in the case of this thread) single play having no direct connection to the sport's championship. The play in question was simple, perfect, and beautiful. An offensive slugfest against a high powered offense in a division opponent, answering their score with a strike as if the Jets at that moment were unstoppable. Perfection. Beautiful. In the moment.
