You see the “Pundits “on this board have just not seen the Light there is NO evidence we are on the way to anywhere! remember Tannenbaum ???he mortgaged us a bit and we made it to a AFC championship yes I am all in on this line of thought
No ..Vince was referring to FA scrubs lol Look at the Rams they BOUGHT their QB Staford and a number of players like Kupp It works with an excellent coach imo..also look at Lions buying Goff
Guess it depends on how you define solid, especially in the last 10 years with the league shifting away from run oriented offenses. I guess if you consider stopping the run the main job then they’ve been solid but our LBs have always been killed in pass coverage for as long as I can remember. They always seem to be exceptionally slow as well.
I've been saying our LB corps is the weakest link on the defense followed closely by our safeties. I can't believe Mosely got an all pro slot for trailing plays all season but I guess having a famous reputation goes a long way.
I feel your frustration. All of us want to win. The worst part of it is that the Jets were at 7-4 and were actually playing meaningful games in December this year and went out on a 6 game losing streak. That hurts. I don't really want to mortgage the future, but the Jets SHOULD try to bring in a QB, that Zach Wilson can sit behind and learn. The team is in a good spot right now with the amount of good young players on rookie deals.
Seems like the entire organization has gone into free fall since 7-4 and nobody has a clue how to halt the rapid descent. In '86 the Jets lost 5 in a row to end the season, somehow made the playoffs, and ended the season due to one of the most idiotic roughing the passer penalties, when they had the game all but won. Took the team 10 years and a stint by Parcells to recover from that complete breakdown. Jets no longer have multiple high draft picks to tinker around with and are now carrying more than their share of overpriced dead weight on both sides of the ball. Woody says he is willing to spend on fixing the offense knowing full well how restricted he is by the salary cap. Another snowjob by the Jet front office right in time for the dead of winter sale. Can't blame Woody, since it can't be easy to sell tickets when his team is once again on an the all too familiar path of perpetual dysfunction.
