these are the kind of pickups you get when you are in the position the jets are. big upside without too much put in because of the inherent risk. hopefully at some point we get some oft injured guys who dont end up getting injured. but there really isnt any downside to whatever deal they made with him as he is almost supposed to get injured.
Okay, you can have all the new version of "news" you want. I prefer to have things confirmed before they get reported. Next thing you know the president will be tweeting things he saw on the internet as if they were facts.
I was waiting for twatboy to start posting political references. Anyway, welcome to the Jets, Mo Claiborne!
Oh boy. Some poor schlep Jets fans wanna discuss the pros and cons of Morris Fukn Claiborne - Journeyman CB, and it's the start of the demise of America as we know it. Bunch of fuckin idiots, ey
I do like prove it deals If he does well, and signs elsewhere we get compensatory pick If he sucks he's gone Similar to signing old pitchers to a rebuilding baseball team. Come August your team is out but someone will trade you prospects for that pitcher to try and help them win the WS
Slightly hesitant to ask this question... what is that painting on the wall in reference to; just random?
That could be any piece of paper. For all we know, he's trying to beat the maze on a Denny's children's placemat.
And if Mac had signed him to a two-year contract and Claiborne sucked or stayed injured half the season, I'd be willing to bet that you and other posters here would be killing Mac for signing him to a two-year contract instead of a one-year contract. Besides, have you even considered the fact that the Jets may not even want him after this season? He is 27 already. They may have plans to use Claiborne as a one-year rental. They may intend to draft a CB to develop and Claiborne may give that rookie some time to develop and learn so that he doesn't have to start day one. They may also like Burris and their other young CBs going forward and not feel the need for Claiborne after this season. Claiborne may also just be insurance so the Jets aren't forced to have to draft a CB if the value isn't there, or in case Burris isn't ready to step up. If they like Claiborne they can sign him to a two-year contract next year, or they can let him walk and get a comp pick for him. IMO we all can be too quick to criticize Mac and/or the Jets, especially since we don't have all the facts.
Well, the earth is flat and all digital photos are CGI and hence automatically fake, so there you go.
Had they included a team option for 2 more years then it would have been a good contract. As the deal stands if he has a good year then they are fighting with other teams for his services the following season, if he has a bad year then he hurt the team in the chances to get more comp picks.
