I don't understand how you think they put the ball in his hands in the red zone. They ran nothing but smoke and mirrors I including the touchdown shuffle pass. There wasn't a single play outside of the Kerley short sit route from about the 12 that they let Geno drop back and throw the ball.
13 carries for 68 yds. is a 5.2 avg. Any coach would love that every game. The long run was proof itself that the run game was clicking. All four Jet runners....Ivory, CJ, Powell & Geno...average yardage #'s were enough to gain that 1st down. Well within FG range, in a close game, we show pass with Geno in the shotgun and lose 19 yards. While I respect MM having confidence in Geno, that was a brain fart.
You know the o line take some blame for letting them jail break through. Yes geno should have just taken a sack but that's not natural instinct for him yet
I cannot stand the freaking wildcat. Geno is a young guy, there is absolutely no reason to pull him from a game for a play here or a play there and disrupt his rhythm. Let him play without him having to constantly look over his shoulder wondering when he's got to sprint to the sideline or be a decoy wideout. Love MM but stop the none sense. How about putting the ball in Geno's hand and let him throw conventional TD passes like the rest of the QBs in the league. _
It's hard to get sacked on a run play. The play called didn't look all that impressive even w/o the sack...
I hate the Wildcat. It never works. Vick doesn't want to do it. It's not adding any dimension to your offense. I don't understand the insistence to keep running it.
Some of that stuff he was doing with Vick wasn't even really the Wildcat. I'm just going to chalk it up to an OC having way too much time, a whole offseason, to game plan for one opponent.
