I think the ref did make a mistake but understandable one. He is watching the field and hears someone call a TO.

Exactly. Can't blame Rex for being in the defensive channel.

If anything they at least should have been standing next to each other given the gravity of the play.

Dude, you just said that anyone wearing a Jets polo could run up and call a timeout.

    Shut the fuck up already.

"So basically if any one of us were standing on the Jets sideline wearing a Jets polo shirt"

How did you get anyone running from the stands in a Jets polo could call a time out?

The logic is that the ref can't turn around which is reasonable. So since someone called a timeout the refs upheld it even though the head coach himself never called one.

I can see this won't get anywhere. Now go fuck yourself.

I don't know about MM. His calls last game made no sense. It would SEEM like he is losing confidence
in Geno (or he could just be trying to improve the chances of winning.) Any way you look at it, things
don't look so hot on offense.

Which could've worked out had Richardson not been in the refs ear. Our luck.

yea i guess, but i am not going to criticize the coaching spacing on the sidelines. just seems too ridiculous.
97 yard drive and an 80 yard td catch and run are way more egregious errors than time out gate

Of course. I'm just trying to give some of these posters something to lean on as the screech about those two calls.

Either way, the result is the result but I'm kinda glad Rex was on the wrong channel. Obviously it doesn't mean shit because the call was made, but it would have for sure been made had Rex heard Marty telling him to call timeout.

It's not so much about the mistake as it is after the play was done. The refs should have gathered together and determined that the timeout was not called by the head coach, thus the rule remains in action.

The whistle may have been blown, but every player except David Nelson was still going 100% without ever hearing a whistle. These refs put everything under review, you're telling me they couldn't review it and see that Rex was not the one who called for a timeout?

Yeah and that probably would have brought on an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for trying to confuse the officials.

It is not a reviewable play. They can't just to decide to review a nonreviewable play because we think we got screwed.

Plot Twist: Geno's pass is intercepted.

Would we still be complaining about the the timeout being called?
