What I want to know is why the FU$K WAS REX TUNED TO THE DEFENSIVE CHANNEL WHEN THE TEAM IS IN A DO OR DIE SCENARIO ON OFFENSE!!! This is a HUGE screw up on Rex, HUGE!
That's a bingo. Having this discussion last night or the discussion about the 12 men on the field penalty last night was impossible. Having said that, I wasn't drinking last night so maybe I wasn't in the right frame to "converse" with some of the other posters that were going crazy. _
I call bullshit on that too. Rex Ryan has been harping in this guys ear for 56 minutes , if he at that point of the game doesn't know Rex's voice he shouldn't be on the sidelines. It's that simple.
100% true, if that ball gets dropped, intercepted, a sack we all are calling Marty a genius. Time to move on.
So basically if any one of us were standing on the Jets sideline wearing a Jets polo shirt and yelled TIMEOUT!!!!! And because his back was turned and didn't see who called it (fair point) he grants it? If the fucking head coach tells you he didn't call one. Would it hurt to have a quick conference among the refs and get the call right? Then the NFL basically making up the rules as they go along says it was called correctly because the ref had his back turned and can't see who called it. So I mean why even have the rule?
That play was a no brainer and absolutely 1000000% the right call. The player was on the field, Rodgers saw it and forced a throw that he otherwise would not have made had he not known it was a free play because of the penalty.
I think you are correct, imagine the uproar if the roles were reversed and we won the game because of this? Just look at the uproar when we beat the Cheats last year because of the correct penalty being called for the pushing in the back.
I doubt any of us are calling him a genius, we are saying we got away with one and lucked out. Acting like it still isn't a rule if it benefits you is stupid.
Yep. The way people were talking about that game on the day after, you would have thought the Pats completely dominated us and that the refs called 20 more penalties against NE than us. It was actually comical.
I agree although I have a sneaking suspicion that if that pass was picked off they would've ignored the timeout.
I would imagine if some random individual not affiliated with the team ran up behind the ref and called a timeout, they would go the stadium jail and there would have been a timeout given back to the Jets, plus a replay of downs. This was a Jets player illegally telling the ref a second before the snap to call a timeout in a stadium where you couldn't hear the whistle through your television. You've made enough posts in this thread in the name of hysterical homerism, maybe you should cut bait while your boat is barely above water.
This is paranoid. Oh they called the play by the rule but if it was different they would have called it a different way. Give it a rest. If our offensive playcalling wasn't in the toilet for 3 quarters maybe we would have been ahead by a touchdown.
Look at the way that stupid replacement ref nonsense was blown out of proportion, they got a call wrong as if the regular refs never got one wrong. It was holy hell for a week because the Packers got screwed against the not yet known to be as good as they are Seahawks. I won't back down from my thought that if the Packers had lost this game because they were in our shoes we'd see it all over ESPN today about this rule not being followed and how the NFL fixes it. But because Ryan and Co. don't ever throw blame on others like a certain asshole in New England does it will be swept under the rug.
IF they called it near the end of play clock or game clock, then yes. The way I heard it talked about was that last second the ref should just grant it instead of missing calling a TO to turn and see if it's the HC. And once he blows the whistle, the play is dead. They can't just confer and and say it was inadvertent and the play should count.
I meant to say certain asshole in Denver but force of habit made me type asshole and New England in the same sentence, I mean could you imagine the rule changes for Peyton Manning if this happened to him? The league already changed rules for him when he could't beat the Pats.
