The 1st Round of the 2017 Draft is over and the Jets (correctly) did not draft a QB in the 1st Round. Looks like Hackenberg will truly get an opportunity this season. I am interested to see if the Jets do take a QB in rounds 2-7. If so, could mean the end of Petty.
While it wasn't a pick that I would used, I think it is foolish to write of Hack before he evens takes a snap in a first NFL game. Let's see what he does for the first 4-5 games next year.
I just start him the whole season. If he sucks, Jets will end up picking first overall next year and can get a QB then.
I see the jets taking Peterman in the third...less stress on Hackenberg with him being a third round pick but it will spell the end of Petty.
I think Peterman would be great value in the third, especially since he'll be a fit for the West Coast offense.
Hopefully they pick a qb at some point. Would hate to think they were so satisfied with petty and hack that they can suspend the search.
Tony Pauline is reporting that the Jets are interested in Davis Webb. If this happens, MAC should be fired on the spot for that blatant incompetence.
Then how do we improve the depth? We're just supposed to be satisfied with petty for as long as he wants to be here?
I disagree. If we take a QB with our 3rd round comp pick or a 5th rounder we don't really have anything to lose.
^ How is the Jets selecting consecutive safeties in the first two rounds "dodging a bullet" when they don't select a QB? This does not compute.
