So a team offers him a mega contract, and he is going to decline it. Mario Williams is the only proof I need in this argument. I apologize, I should have just ignored it, and moved on. Go ahead and get you last word in, it will go unanswered.
My two cents: Please add the positions for the players in the draft, especially after round one. Landry is asking for $6 mil per year and you are giving him $7 mil. I would let him walk instead. We drafted a safety last year that the coaching staff is high on and you picked up another safety in this year's draft. Harvin will cost more than $3 mil. He will hold out if he does not get a new contract. He is asking for $12 mil. Unless you restructure some contracts I would suggest sending Holmes to the Vikings as part of the Harvin deal (if they would take him). I like the idea of picking up Clausen instead of wasting more money or a high draft pick on a QB this year. Next year is the time to get our QB of the future unless Clausen plays lights out. If Clausen does a decent job we have our backup going forward. Levitre and Warmack would be great. I would rather have a RB from this draft than Bush but we can't draft for all of our holes this year.
The reason I didn't add the positions or the school, is it increases the chances of people looking them up before trashing the ideas. I say trashing, because that is typically what happens when a choice doesn't follow the herd. I have a 4 year 21 Million dollar contract which is an average of 5.25 Million per year. I have a $7 Million dollar guaranteed over the course of the contract. I didn't get into it, but I would give him the $7 Million in form of a signing bonus, and then roster bonuses based on playing time from the year before. Harvin isn't going to get his money. IMO. He is slated for $3 Million this year, and that is just the hit I have for 2013. We could extend him, and offer him an option bonus in 2014, when the cap opens up a bit. I am in a tizzy trying to decide who offers a better chance, McCoy or Clausen, but I went with Clausen for his background and low cost. Bush is a WCO Rb, and a proven back. I would have no objections with drafting a different back, but I just don't feel we will get the impact. Bush comes with a fear factor to defensive coordinators, as well as Harvin, and a draft pick would come with a relatively unknown. Thanks for the input
I'd like us to sign RB Chris Ivory and QB Kevin Kolb if he's cut. Trade Revis for 31,34. Take an OG and OT with those picks. Resign Moore and Keller. Take a stab at Landry. Take an OLB at #9. Maybe a mid round pick on a QB as well. Just my take.
Yep, defensive playmaker. He'd be the first pick if it wasn't for the injury concerns. Always around TE ball and creating turnovers and that's exactly what we need. Like Osi did for the giants. It seemed like everytime he sacked the qb the ball was on the ground. We need a defender that impacts the game with turnovers and sacks. He will also make wilk and couples better. Jordan will most likely be gone now since his combine was great. But he has injury concerns also. I would love if we had the chance to draft either one. We are going to get a good football player either way, crossing my fingers for no busts(gholston,Sanchez) only if we could have hit on those picks. That's why these picks are so important. More so of not getting a bust then hitting real big
I agree with the safety position. I would give bush an Allen a chance as well as drafting a safety. I wouldn't mind re signing Landry because he's a beast but we are cap strapped and need to get younger and build for the future
They would never pass on Eric Fisher, Ezekial Ansah, Bjoern Werner. Also I think too high for Nassib, I'm also not comfortable just throwing him into the fire like this suggests, and Mark isn't going anywhere. Oh but I like the Tavon Austin move too, we could have a good young group of receivers with Austin, Kerley, and Hopkins
