Stanford OT Andrus Peat, officially declares for 2015 draft. Any thoughts on him? He could be everything we want in a future LT; not sure if he's worth a top 6 pick at the moment, but I really like Peat.
Lol i thought about doing it... I would if i knew more college players to do the draft. Sorry if yA took that comment the wrong way, I was looking at the contracts mainly when i said that. Lol i guess idziky is a "harsh" choice of words around these parts.
overall, i really like most of the mock moves you've made. like the QB approach. there aren't good options, so bring in a vet like Moore and a young developmental guy. hopefully draft options are better next year. love the Scherff pick, but if we draft, has to be for OT. move Breno to backup and 6th man, let Scherff play RT. Between Dozier, Aboushi and Winters, someone has to earn the other G spot. i like the toughness of Iupati a lot. he's not much of a pass blocker, but he's a mauler. as long as we don't go with a zone blocking approach, i'd want him on this team. agree on cutting Chris Johnson, Cumberland and Percy Harvin. love the Douzable re-sign, although i think Rex will try to take him. S a little weak, i'd consider re-signing Landry......again Rex may try to take him. i don't at all agree on switching to a 4-3. I'd re-sign Harris. shouldn't cost too much. would also spend a little more in FA, maybe on a better impact corner or even Houston. would also like another TE option who can block or play H-back. an upgrade on Pascoe, who's a bit of a stiff. and i'd re-sign Powell. overall, good job on this..
I think moving Giaciomini into guard make more sense to allow Scherff or Collins to stay outside. Whether we stay in a 3-4 or move to a 4-3 I don't think Harris is worth taking back, certainly not in a 4-3. He's a slow straight ahead linebacker that can stuff the interior A and B gaps but struggles on runs to the edge and is atrocious at trying to play coverage. We can't solely make him a run & blitz backer there's no place in the NFL anymore if they're not a 3-4 rusher. Pascoe is a stiff but he's a big physical run blocker to help the running game out. Teams don't really expect much out of their backup tightends but we need to not waste a roster spot on three "receiving" tightends when Cumberland is below average and a cross between a receiver and a tight end and Sudfeld is just a big body with no ball skills. Blocking on the edge is really underrated.
