eh. thats based on the preseason, and the slicing of the "bread", was not 1st string bread, they were 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Many great players have been cut from teams and turned out great (James Harrisson for example or Kurt Warner)

I don't think you really understood what I meant. You claim his hands have been "proven to be suspect" against an NFL defense. Why/how can you say this??

Read practice commentary from his very BRIEF stint in Green Bay.

When I find the link, I will post it, but I do remember reading it because I wondered why he didnt start at slot on the roster... (despite having a shoulder injury).

We'll see in 2009, if he can produce. My inclination is that he will not.
I hope he proves me wrong.

If you had a choice between him or stuckey...which 6'0 receiver would you keep.

Ok cool. I'd like to see that. And Green Bay does have tremendous depth at WR and still did while he was there.

Again, I'm not saying he's our starter or anything. But his speed could be a major asset. It was just preseason, but he did tear it up. And that might be an understatement.

He's definately someone to keep your eye on this offseason.

Stuckey. Fast as hell, quick as hell, excellent hands, gets YAC, and has more than straight line speed.

I was wondering where he went after those 3 games.

Stuckey should take ALL of Brad Smith's reps. Chansi was once a quarterback too.

I hope the slot is used so much more in 2009. Whether it's Keller in the slot, or Stuckey/Clowney.

Well I haven't seen enough of Clowney to judge yet...

Stuckey looked pretty good though when he got the ball this season.

tell me what you think of these two.
and im liking hakeem nicks as a wideout from UNC.

one guy the entire site will love, but that NOONE has mentioned is:

    Vince Oghobaase DT- Duke

I hope we can steal this LB in the later rounds...

I like Spikes, and Curry, but this guy from cal we cant pass up, because he's not going in the 1st or 2nd.

    Zack Follett LB- Cal

i still feel that our top priority on Offense is WR, and on Defense is Safety.

Vince O really underwhelmed this year when big things were expected from him which is why he is returning to Duke for his senior season. His measurables are great but he didn't play well all year.

Cal has a ton of really good LBers for the 3-4, my favorite being ILB Worrell Williams evidenced by my mock. Follet would be just as good of a pick as Matthews from USC if he is there in the 6th, and same with Felder who is an OLB at Cal.

And to everyone partaking in the Clowney debate - start a thread on it if you want a forum to debate the topic. Now back to praising my mock

Actually all-ACC, same difference, just difference conferences.

In terms of him being underwhelmed, thats not the reason why hes returning.

dont assume that players return to pad their stats or put up numbers. Student-Athletes. First word is Student. There are the few good players who pride in academics and not in football.

Best example, my favorite safety besides Taylor Mays, is Myron Rolle from FSU. He is going to Oxford instead of going to the NFL.

Yea, I've been on the VO bandwagon awhile. It was the trendy thing to say he stayed in school cause of his season. Really, it's cause he goes to Duke and he's not an idiot.

Had he had the year everyone expected he certainly would have declared in what is going to be a very weak DT class. Next year's DT class is going to be stacked.

Yea, next years class actually has guys I'd take in the first round as a 3-4 DE.

    Oghobaase
    Suh
    Odrick
    Gerald McCoy
    A. Jones - Kinda, he needs to get bigger.
    Cameron Heyward
    Austin

They've even got better NT prospects...though I like Raji and Brace alot and think both will be very good NTs:

Cody (NT, but a potentially elite one)
    Boo Robinson
Whitlock (K. Gregg clone, love how this guys plays)

And theres probably a bunch I'm forgetting or just not listing...

No offense to VO, but he would have to have a double-digit sack season next year to scratch the end of the first round.

DTs better than him for 2010: Suh, McCoy, Granger, Austin, Atkins. I don't like Cody as he barely plays 50% of the snaps but if he loses ~30 lbs and can improve his conditioning he could move ahead of VO on my list. Don't forget about Jeff Owens from UGA either, and Al Woods if he finally steps up from LSU.

    I'm sorry...what? Double digit sacks?

I hope he gets it just to prove he can do it. But holy crap a DT from DUKE with double digit sacks? That'd be ridiculous.

If Oghobaase came out this year, I would have had him as my top overall DT.

    And that's my point.

If he was actually going to be the #1 rated DT as opposed to likely #5 or #6 next year why would he go back to school and lose millions of $$ plus the run the risk of injury?

    You overrate him.

    Cause he went to Duke?

Believe it or not, some people think/know that money will come as long as they put in the work.

Why go to Duke to leave early? Is there a rule that says highly touted DT's have to come out early?
