Cant trade out of 2 if you intend to take Wilson.

    cant risk it.

have to draft him at 2 if he’s your guy.

What's this like 5 trades in the top 20 all involving the Jets? I know you said it's unlikely but this isn't even in the realm of reality.

After checking him out I agree with you. He'd be my pick.

I can see a ton of effort and thought, but this is remarkably unrealistic in so many ways.

    1. Falcons can't afford to trade Matt Ryan due to cap reasons.

    2. No one is going to trade a 1st for Teddy Bridgewater.

    3. No one is going to trade a 1st for CJ Mosley.

    4. No one is going to trade a 1st for Jimmy Garoppolo.

    5. No one is going to trade a 1st for Sam Darnold.

Not a single player you listed holds that kind of value, except Matt Ryan, who won't be available in the first place.

    Thanks. Couple of things.

Atlanta's owner has already publicly stated trading Ryan is not off the table this offseason.
On the low, it was Bridgewater and a 5th for the 20th pick.
It was Darnold and our 3rd from Seattle for the 28th pick.

These were the parameters of those trades.

In the NFL, the high pick is generally what’s considered the main trade value. Basically that means the 5th would be a pot sweetener, and the 1st would essentially be for Bridgewater. In 100% honesty, a team that got desperate in training camp could pull that trigger but it’s super unlikely, and certainly not before the draft.

The same idea is true for Darnold except that I find it even more unlikely even with a 3rd in the mix.

Also I do really like the creative thinking but it’s too convoluted and it relies too heavily on the Jets assuming they can re-trade assets.

ps here’s a video I made on the Atlanta situation with Ryan’s contract and the only way he is trade able is after the draft as well in my opinion:

    The video makes sense.

However, Arthur Blank reiterated again yesterday that if the new GM wants a total rebuild he has his permission to trade both Ryan and Julio Jones at any time.

It’s more about what’s feasible than what the GM is allowed to do. I think Blank is just trying to make clear the GM will have final say, and ensure the job is attractive.

How the hell does Todd McShay have Justin Fields going 15th ?

I mean, people slip but not 13 spots.

Thats a good point. Plus there is a lot of GM competition at the moment.

    Yep, and to New England.

In the coming months mock drafts will get a lot of clicks, and the controversial ones will get even more. That is the only rational I can come up with for this.

That’s the truth. You see it in even the best draft coverage guys. Even with guy like Daniel Jeremiah, they start more likely around the combine and then they just put out less and less likely versions because they get clicks and social media response.

I’ll be the first to say, nothing is 100% off the table so I could be wrong. I will tell you with certainty that the facts I stated are correct, but my prediction could be wrong. I am pretty confident though just because of the hoops they’d have to jump through to make it happen.

True but never doubt that some of these teams looking for GMs this season will end up hiring their version of Mac. If Fields plays great again against Bama some people will metaphorically "fall in love with him", and do irrational things. Thats my hope at least.

Rousseau is not a three technique. He lined up there in Miami's NASCAR style packages because he was the best at it between he, Phillips and Garvin. He projects as en edge in the NFL and played there effectively at Miami in base packages. He just wrecked havoc inside but he's 6'8" 260ish and a bit on the skinny side.

A defense who played him at the 3T would be the worst rush defense in the NFL bar none.

To be fair, his best pass rushing snaps have come from the inside. In that sense, I think it's fair to say that he's an interior pass rusher, regardless of whether it's in "NASCAR" sets. I'm not sure he's proven enough as an EDGE to be worthy of a high pick.

I'm sure some team will fall in love with the measurable and athleticism, but it definitely should not be the Jets.
