Zach was every bit as bad as the worst we’ve seen out of Darnold/Sanchez… got lucky not getting called for a fumble, and also got lucky with several passes not getting picked today… The only thing he has done better than those 2 is move around the pocket and not attempt any passes 25+ yards which has minimized INT’s… This enables the Jets to beat bad / one dimensional teams but wait until we play a team like Buffalo… it’s gonna be ugly.
Those guys also hit on a hell of a lot more passes than Wilson. I'm a Zach supporter but he sucked ass today.
How about when they picked up G. Wilson and then #99 comes leaping in like a WWE wrestler?! That was fucked up.
MLF has been way better than we've had in years...but he goes into every game NOT leaning on his strengths and trying to get fancy. It's only after the offense struggles that he settles down and goes back to the bread and butter that's gotten us wins.
I don't even want to see ZW play against Buffalo. You might aswell hand it off every like BB did with Jones in the cold/wind last year.
I always laugh at these reactions, I mean where are these magic Offensive coordinator's, that can turn completely shitty QBs into gold? However off all the trash we have had at QB how many have gone on to light the league on fire, I'm waiting Geno is playing pretty good, other than that, Jeff Blake with the Ravens maybe
I wouldnt even say hes better just a different kinda bad. He adjusts ok after the half, but why is the dirst half so bad? I read Arians book and i just dont think hes working with Zach like he should. You can tell Wilson just looks uncomfortable with the plays called.
I don't see that happening. What's more likely is the jets bring in a starting QB next year to complete with Wilson and Wilson has to prove he's better. If they make the playoffs they sure as shit won't be waiting for him to develop anymore
zach is inconsistent, holds the ball too long, is not seeing the field well right now. many times he holds the ball while rolling out and refuses to take the easy completion to the RB… he’s super stubborn in this regard. The OLine gets no push, on 3rd/4th and short this become painfully obvious. The WR’s are a mixed bag and not terribly hard to game plan against. Wilson is too slight, Moore too small in stature and Davis is robotic. In time, I think they will be good… Really the strength of this offense was AVT and Hall… both injured. Zach Wilson’s feet and not getting sacked/turning the ball over is under appreciated and helping the Jets beat bad/flawed teams… Flacco/White probably would be more consistent in seeing the field and completing passes but would be statues getting sacked, fumbling and costing the Jets games… Hopefully Wilson develops in time and the game slows up.
I like Zach’s escapability alot. If he can improve as a passer, combined with it would make him very dangerous.
I think the Jets have enough weapons that they can, theoretically, compensate for Breece going down. Carter is a good running back, so I think we'll be okay on that front. The thing is, I don't there's anything to "expose". It's glaringly obvious that MLF and Wilson have significant shortcomings that they need to work on. Somehow, they've found ways to win and compensate. However, with or without Breece, eventually our luck is going to run out and we'll get shut down. I will say that Wilson HAS improved since last year. I think he has potential, but he's still raw.
