Dodgers also close to signing ageless veteran Luis Gonzalez.

That is pretty ridiculous as his lowest HR total ever for a season was 13 in 1999 in 368 ABs. Since then he has averaged a HR every 19.1 ABs playing in LA, St. Louis and ATL.
I think PECOTA used to not take into effect the league differences, and now they overdo it in both directions. They devalue the pitchers for facing weak hitting, and yet devalue the hitters for facing the pitchers that they devalued.

I expected this after hearing about an hour ago Cashman left the meetings because the market is so insane this year.

I wanted Lilly on the Yankees, but for 4 years, 40 million, I would never take him.

Where was Omar on this one? He's off chasing down project relievers for capable starters while Seattle is giving away an excellent reliever.

The Boston Herald says little has gone on with the Manny Ramirez talks on Wednesday and that Ramirez is expected to remain with the Red Sox.

Michael Silverman says the Mariners refused to part with J.J. Putz and Adam Jones and apparently made Putz untouchable in talks. So, Putz, a soon-to-be 30-year-old reliever with a career ERA of 3.47 in 205 innings, cannot be had in trade talks, but Rafael Soriano, a soon-to-be 27-year-old reliever with a 2.89 ERA in 171 innings, is up for grabs for a No. 4 starter. Genius.

Lilly is OK as a number 3 starter, but we still need to add a #2.

Zambrano, _______, Lilly, Hill, Marshall with Prior as a wildcard.

I'm concerned the target is Meche, I'd rather trade for Jennings from the Rockies or perhaps someone I've not considered...

Looks like we are going hard after a left-hand bat, or 2 if Jones gets his wish to be traded. Would need one of them to play CF until Pie is ready.
