I'm surprised the Mets took Davis, even considering the fact they're still a slot team. But it's clear their targeting college position players.

Cole should be the Yankees pick, maybe Melville.

3 pitchers on the first day for the Yankees. Think they are worried?????
I do like that the last 2 were college players. If good enough they can be in the bigs in a couple of years.

From what little knowledge I have of these guys, I like the Mets' picks. Davis sounds like he was the best hitter available there and he should be a better option than Carp in the minors as a Delgado replacement. Havens sound like he can switch to 2B and his scouting report sounds quite a bit like D Wright's a few years ago. Anything that gets Castillo out of there makes me happy.

its always interesting to see someone you either know, or played ball with get drafted. I used to play ball with Matt Means from Sonoma St. He got drafted by the Padres today. Im still waiting for Jason Windsor to get his head out of his ass, and get called up to the A's again.

My buddy struck out Anthony Hewitt (Phillies first round selection) twice both times he faced him this year against Salisbury.

Hewitt got drafted straight out of High School and my friend is playing college ball next year. Probably wont get drafted, but still a cool story for him.

This guy the Yankees drafted in the 36th round is an exciting prospect, to say the least.
